ISIS Surrenders in face of Climate Change Conference

Raqqa, Syria

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.

"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."

An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.

Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."

According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.

"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."

So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

Dr. Seuss was such a fantastic author.

It’s really nice out, and I will go in a few minutes to check the mail, but I’m not going to stay out there. My hands are still cold from earlier, and I think they may stay cold until April.

I went to print up a letter that my dad typed to one of his uncles in 1951, and though I knew the printer was low on ink, I didn’t realize it was that low. My son will just have to wait for it, even though he asked for that document and a couple of others.

On a lighter note, my smoking neighbor took a shower. I heard water running and thought it was the outside faucet, but the guy was taking a shower. I think that’s two since he moved in, about five months ago. LOL! *shudder*

Whoa. It seems I saw that, but I can’t recall when. A LONG time ago!

I can’t recall if I was a kid or a young adult... *sigh*

Well, he smokes, too, and when my A/C kicks on, it draws in his smoke, as we have a common attic. So I use Filtrete filters with really tight baffles, and lots of Febreze for the odor. In the winter time, it isn’t bad because I don’t use the furnace. I use a space heater.

I just went down to check the mail, and on the way back, he was coming out of his place with a full laundry basket, heading for the laundry room. He commented on my coat, and this is the first time he has ever talked to me, even though I have seen him quite a few times. He said my coat looked warm and I told him it would be if the zipper in it worked! :o]

I think the shower must have cleaned out the cobwebs and nicotine from his brain. Oh, yes: he is also on oxygen, but he still smokes. NV has the most smokers per capita than any other state.

"ponderize" that... it's not a real word..

Well...

Considering how English works, ponderize got used, ergo it is a real word. If its usage becomes common eventually even spell-checkers will accept it. And in about a decade even autocowrekt will quit trying to fix it. ;-)

I went shopping in the rain. At least it’s not cold.

The Weight Watchers website is having a Conniption. It thinks I’ve consumed 137 Points today, even though it’s showing no food entered and won’t let me enter any.

Fortunately, I have an old Plan and Track book that I can use until they fix the website.

It seems to be going around. I tried to read some posts by my nieces and a nephew on FB, and it took me to a brand new page, every time I tried it. So I just closed it. I don’t need that stress.

I’m not a happy person.

I hate the cold. I can’t seem to warm up today at all. I even dressed in layers, but it did no good. So bed is the best place for me.

Evening, Moose! We have a fresh crop of various lettuces in our garden, seeded themselves from what grew in the spring. I just went out and picked some red leaves I’m not sure what they are to use in a recipe that calls for Swiss chard.

Do you think she could wire the door hande with the place’s 110V AC to send a message without getting her in legal trouble?

I used to know how to do stuff like that. I think it’s decrease the voltage by upping the amperage because the amps will get your attention but the volts will kill you, or something like that.

Prolly not. But wiring the door knob/handle to a Ford Model T spark coil would not be lethal while delivering a definite message. About 10k volts from a 6v battery... ;-)

"I'm not certain if that's really deep or really not."

Every simple answer is a single direction. But every proper path is a winding journey.
It's actually a geometric finding. So, technically, it isn't deep, 'cause it doesn't go that direction.

Even so, it is philosophical. When you encounter a simple answer to what you know is a complex situation, then you will also have encountered someone like me; a person pretending to be intelligent.

So your pretender can pull a random choice from a boxed compass, but that only gives you a random chance of even heading in the right direction for the ultimate answer.

Whereas, tracking down clues, following leads, and examining evidence may lead you on a confused and tortuous journey, and perhaps an answer to your original question. Hence the proper path is a winding journey.

Even traveling through time the simple and hard way is ultimately a winding journey, for the Earth's orbit is actually a spiral. The sun moves, and the Earth follows dizzily along.

Any depth to this concept is in the eye of the beholder.

In regard to your fruit tree idea; simply espaliate it against a wall. This will maximize both the fruit offering and your easy access to it.

Evening TC,
Growing Fruit and veg in the Garden was always good fun as a kid, no room for it here.
Cover the Red leaves in French dressing and they will magically become exactly the leaf you require. Swiss Chard....Voila!

Wouldn’t recommend putting Elastictickery on a Door handle.
If the Daft old Coot has a pacemaker he’s curtains. (Drapes).
Parade Gloss is a Good first warnng.
But if needs must ,an old hand cranked Insulation tester can put a mighty charge in a large can condenser...Just enough for a WTF without the teminal effect.
:)
