The seven-year-old Belgian shepherd dog, or Malinois, was "killed by terrorists" when French special forces raided an apartment building in Saint-Denis early on Wednesday morning.
Police National tweeted:"Diesel, a seven-year-old Malinois, police dog for RAID [France's anti-terrorist police unit], was killed by terrorists in the ongoing operation."
The police spokesman said that dogs such as Diesel who are trained to assist on operations where there is a risk of explosives were "indispensable" to the elite unit.
The brave dog was reportedly the first to be sent into an apartment, which was used by at least six jihadis in the run up to the attacks, to assess the level of danger before they stormed it.
Every time there is a dog thread on FR, someone has to comment that he thinks dog-lovers value dogs more than humans. You're that guy this time.
I don't mind people knowing I value that dog's life over the sub-human Muslim terrorist scumbags who are not as far up the evolutionary ladder as Diesel was.
You don’t have to guess. You are correct.
Years ago we had a Cocker named Cody that was fiercely loyal to my wife. about 6 months later we got him a little sister that was a Shitzu Cocker mix named Noiree. One day a Huskey came onto our property and chased Noiree into my wife's arms. The huskey shifted his focus to my wife and Cody went after him with a vengeance. Cody chased the huskey off our property and then went back to check on my wife. No one trained him to do this it was just him protecting his "Mommy"
This is Diesel:
Well the liberals will really be pissed now, a woman killed a dog! Maybe not, it wasn’t a lion so let’s see
Everything in life is not explainable & yes, animals DO
give their all in ways that can only be described as
HEROIC numerous times. . asking little in return; the
occasional pat on the head, a dog biskit in thanks for
a job well done, their daily bowl of kibbles & fresh
water. - Animals are many times much better than some of
the human variety that we’ve seen lately.
Thank you. I already have the other picture up in my office, and I will most definitely put this one up! He’s a beauty!
Correction, she’s a beauty!
Good luck with your pup! These require a lot of training but are pretty special, an unusual combination of loving pet and strong protector. They normally are social and like kids and REQUIRE a lot of training and thrive on it,so the time you spend will be rewarding.
The dog is worth more than all the terrorists.
You are correct.
These dogs are trained to seek out and incapacitate individual terrorists, quietly and quickly. They are deadly animals. I know a gentleman in Germany that trained these sorts of dogs in Frankfurt. They are specifically selected and trained to perform this one task, and really aren’t suitable or much else. They are not pets...
RIP Diesel..you will be missed but you died a hero I salute you for your service
Can't be done.
(But keep trying)
Not at all, but I know they pack explosives on women who don’t want it.
Hi glasseye,
Thanks for your note. I’m sure Dieter is happy with you, and you are much better than what he has seen.
I’ve read that the Malinois are 3 Fs — faithful, fearless, and ferocious. As I wrote before, I need a companion to run, and defend me when necessary. I defended a plain clothes police officer in a civil case several years ago. I still receive credible threatening phone calls twice a year. Running is the only time I don’t carry. My Celeste will allow us to outnumber any intruder or assailant.

Thank you for the video. My neighbor across the street is retired Air Force, and he is jealous now. When in the AF, he trained/handled Malinois.

OTOH, it might be enough to turn any libtard acquaintances you have against the terrorists.
Sad, isn’t it?
You have chosen well for your needs.
Train her up and you will have a best friend for life.
An observation: My dog ‘needs’ to a part of what I am doing, even if is just laying down watching the property while I play in the workshop. My agenda is his agenda, and he is serious about it. I once left him on ‘down stay’ in front of the garage and went back in the house, forgot he was there. Hours later called for him in the back yard and heard a bark, he was still waiting for me in front of the garage.
Never had a dog that would do that.
Enjoy your puppy!
Haha! that is sooo true! the script was sooooo bad, but watched it anyway, and the dog came thru in the end.
Great story. Love ‘em.
We have 4 dogs now. Noiree is now 13, she has a younger “sister” Cassie, she is another pure bred Cocker and a rescue. We recently got 2 brothers from a Rescue. They were supposed to be Cocker mixes, not a drop of Cocker in them. Maybe Field Spaniel and Black Lab. But they adore my wife and won’t let anyone near her except me.
