Carson: I Won't Respond to Trump If He Attacks
CNN ^ | 10/23/2015 | Eugene Scott

 "If he does attack me, I'll continue to talk about issues," Carson said Trump previously said that he would start attacking Carson given the retired neurosurgeon's rise in the polls

Washington (CNN)—Although Ben Carson is leading in several Iowa polls this week, he said he doesn't plan to respond to Donald Trump if the mogul attacks him.

"If he does attack me, I'll continue to talk about issues. I just really don't buy into the attack-your-fellow-Republicans thing. I'm just not going to do that," Carson said Friday on Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect."

Trump previously said that he would start attacking Carson given the retired neurosurgeon's rise in the polls.

"Probably. At some point, yes, which I actually look forward to doing," Trump said on ABC's "Good Morning America" last week, adding that at the moment, "I can't do it. He's been so nice to me."

And Carson said Friday that the real estate mogul has also been nice to him.

"My personal interactions with him have shown him to be a gentleman," Carson said. "I think there's another element sometimes when he's on camera."

Carson said the biggest issues that differentiate him from Trump are their tax plans and immigration stances. Unlike Trump, Carson is not in favor of deporting undocumented immigrants, but favors a path to legal status.

Carson also believes all residents should pay taxes, whereas Trump wants to exclude the poorest Americans from having to pay taxes.

The retired neurosurgeon also commented on the Benghazi hearings, saying that Hillary Clinton was caught "lying."

Well, actually, somebody should respond to Trump’s off the wall comments. He gets off scot free on anything he rants.

No other candidate can get away with this, but the media love Trump because he can generate a buzz (being a tabloid celebrity himself, even before he ran for office).

The first candidate who decides not to suck Trump’s media-promoted toes gets my vote!

Because he's right!

No, Trump is unintelligible, spews personal insults and makes everything all about him. He has held no political office and not been responsible for anything other than his inherited wealth and his TV shows.

Somebody should call Carson out on his position of abolishing Medicare and Social Security, his unwillingness to enforce immigration laws, and his cozy relationship with Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan.

While they are at it, have him explain how he can be an effective Commander in Chief when he is an elder in an SDA Church that adheres to Pacifism, only allowing their members to serve as non combatants.

This is Carson:

Carson is against the Second Admendment;

He was discussing how German and World History would be altered if Jews were armed in the 30’s in Germany;

Carson said he would shut down the VA’s;

He will abolish Medicare and Social Security;

He was a liberal just like Reagan and Trump;

He spends money like a drunken sailor;

He said it wasn't ok to go into Iraq and Afghanistan, but it’s ok to go to war against ISIS;

Carson is a pacifist;

His aide wants Farrakhan in charge of Public Policy in Chicago;

Thinks it's immoral to deport illegal immigrants, would rather have them working on the farms and give them amnesty;

Says he has the same goals as Al Sharpton;

Sent people to other doctors to have abortions done;

These are Trumps plans:
Oh he won’t run;

Oh he won’t send in his financial statement;

Oh he won’t last;

Oh he’s going to be dropping out;

Oh his numbers are going down;

Oh he is behind the pack;

OK, for over 100 days he has lead the Republican Candidates, he has filled more arenas, stadiums, fairs, than any of the other candidates, and he has a gun plan out, and a tax plan out, and he has a multi-billion dollar company he is running, and a book coming out...and is speaking to events at least twice a week...

Now you tell me, what are the other candidates doing? Oh yes, Ben Carson LEFT his campaign to do a ‘book tour’ but Trump hasn't’t left HIS campaign for his ‘book tour’....Jeb is whining about his brother’s name; Rubio, a sitting Senator from Fla isn't’t showing up for votes in the Senate; and on and on...what are they doing? I’ll tell you what Trump is doing:

This is the Trump Train:

He has told us about illegal immigration, and how he would handle it;

He has shown that if we had good immigration laws, we wouldn't’t have the people that blew up the World Trade Center Buildings, the Pentagon...and has proved what needs to be done to enact the laws;

He has told us about how to get jobs back into America, and what he would do to do it;

He has a tax plan, and how it works;

He has a gun plan, and how he would work it;

He has told us obumacare is bad for the country, and what he would do about it;

He has told us about the Social Security going broke, and what he is going to do about it;

He has told us that the immigrants are being treated better than our vets, and what he would do to change it;

He has told us why he is financing his own campaign and why he is doing that;

He has told us that he wants Education back in the States, not in the federal government; and how bad common core is and why;

He has told us why he wants to shut down the EPA, and the reasons why;

He has told us why P.C. is so bad, and how it is taking away our expression of the freedoms we have;

So this is why my support goes to Trump, he makes deals, he runs multi billion dollar companies, and owns them, with someone as brilliant as this, I want THIS someone to put America on its feet again....

“Why is “lying” in quote marks?”

I guess that was the word that Carson used.

Trump never attacked Carson..never. I saw him last night and he joked about Carson but in a friendly manor...he saved his attack for hildebeast. If you are a Carson follower you had better open your eyes. If ya dont like Trump pick another.

I actually think Trump nailed it with the energy. It’s going to take someone fast on their feet to try and fix this country. We’re too far gone to take it slow.

The first candidate who deides not to suck Trump's media-promoted toes gets my vote!

For starters, Trump isn't being provided "media promoters". The media followed their puppet masters directives and tried to dismantle Trump's candidacy, but Trump turned it to his favor brilliantly. Now they all want Trump on because Trump's faithful provide huge viewing audiences.

Secondly, the one who has done the very least to welcome Trump into the family of candidates (you say "appease") is Jeb. So you support Jeb?

Sen. Graham! That's not a nice thing to say.

“his inherited wealth “

He didn’t inherit that much — only a small percentage of what he has now. The wealth he inherited, added to some money he borrowed, he parlayed into his current fortune. Of course he did that by being incredibly stupid.

“He has held no political office”

Good; we hate those people.

“not been responsible for anything other than his inherited wealth and his TV shows.”

Seriously? He believes he’s responsible for the lives of tens of thousands of people he employs.
