He (Zuckerberg ) also shared that it's been in the development stages for some time. The company previously decided against building the button -- despite complaints from users -- because it didn't want to evoke negative reactions.

Facebookers have had their own versions forever.
He probably wants to offer a “less offensive alternative” to all those.

Don’t tell anybody, but for my political discourse needs, Facebook competes with FR directly.

Stay off of social media where your name and face is plastered for all to see and read about. Might just keep you employed, married, out of jail. Sign carrying libs off your front lawn.....

It’s not as much of an echo chamber. And fr has been training me for this since 1998. I run circles around the liberals.

Having a "dislike" button will add more detailed information to a person's profile, thus making that person a more fully and accurately defined person for advertisers to target and for government agents to profile. Employers will be able to better identify traits a person has that are undesirable. Trends will be more quickly identified, exploited and manipulated for corporate profit and to direct messaging that influences people. Facebook will make billions more with these more closely targeted profiles of people.
Yeah, it's all good. (sarcasm)

What they failed to mention in the article is that the Dislike button will only be available on Conservative pages or on Christian themed pages.

How many H1B visas does Zuckerberg need to make a dislike button?
To: BraveMan
The dislike button will be the end of Facebook. Think of the wars that will erupt over minor disagreements. My daughter got pissed when my son’s girlfriend said she would unfriend anyone who hadn’t messaged her in the last year. She took it personally and it started a fight that lasted several weeks. Just think what will happen when Facebook sends you a mail message that someone disliked your comment. Hurt feelings will abound.

I follow the military posts, PTSD support, and “Stop Soldier Suicide.” Not too hard to figure me out.

Sign carrying libs protesting McCain? Couldn’t imagine a lawn after putting a Cruz lawn sign in your neighborhood. By me you could put anything as most folks in this neighborhood are apathetic. Now on a car that’s a different story....go a few miles west and the more monied folks in the upper middle class neighborhood are either very liberal or are GOPe with their heads firmly planted up their @$$3$ Some of their radical kids might key your car.....I get nasty looks there just for having a big fuel guzzling truck with my pro-gun stickers.
