GOP to Trump: "You're a Liberal!" (vanity)
(none) | 9/16/2015 | (self)

Posted on 09/16/2015 3:51:20 AM PDT by BobL

I've been struggling to figure out what line of attack will be used to try to take down Trump at tomorrow night's debate, and I think that they will all line up (other than Cruz, of course) trying to make the case that Trump is a liberal, based on both his past positions and some of his recent statements. The goal here, of course, is to try to instill doubts among us Trump supporters, as they understand the longer Trump stays on top, the harder it is going to be to topple him - either by swaying opinion, or rigging the convention. They likely have figured out that they can't goad him real-time into making a fool of himself in a debate format as he controlled himself well in the first debate - it was only outside of that debate that Trump has launched his real attacks that have gotten him all of the attention, so they won’t waste their time trying to goad him again.

Furthermore, although it took 3 months of focus groups by Frank Luntz, I think word is finally trickling in to the GOP bosses that Americans are really fed up with Illegals and that attacking Trump from the left on Immigration only works to his advantage, and that trying to match him on Immigration, well, the other candidates simply aren't up to it (i.e., Scott Walker seeing the need to build a wall only on the Canadian border and taking 3 positions one Immigration issue in one week; Bush saying that Anchor Babies only come from China, etc.), or they just can't help lapsing back to their default positions of Open Borders (Walker secretly promising Big Money to support Amnesty, Carson now coming out for Amnesty and using Democrat talking points, Rubio unable to pull himself away from the Senate Amnesty Disaster that he helped orchestrate, etc).

So about all that is left is trying to attack Trump from the right on other issues and trip him up there, with the hope of getting a legendary Rick Perry type comment of people "having no heart" (when it comes to illegal immigration), or a Bush comment like illegal immigration is "an act of love". They'll try to goad him into saying something like that regarding something recent, like the gay marriage ruling from the Court, the Kentucky Court Clerk situation, etc. It seems to be one of the only hopes left for them, and hopefully Trump is ready for that.

I suspect that their long-term plan is the following: As we (hopefully, in their eyes) move away from Trump, they (the GOP bosses) will permit any of the other candidates to take his place for a period of time (even Cruz, for that matter). Right now, since Carson is up, they're trying to get us to move to him - as you can tell by all of the puff pieces coming out about Carson. But after a while, a few weeks, once they're sure they've severed our bond with Trump, Karl Rove will deploy his whiteboard on Meet the Press and that will be the end of Carson. Carson will have served his purpose.

After that, we're left with Rubio, Bush, and Walker, with Biden coasting to another easy Democrat victory. But the GOP bosses will still be THRILLED - they prevented Trump, a bull in a china shop to them, from totally decimating their scam, and they will retain their incomes and plush offices for another 4 years. Sure a GOP victory would be nice, but a Trump defeat is all that matters to them now.

I don’t consider Trump to be a conservative. But he is what we need to turn this ship around.

I also don’t consider the GOP to be anymore the Democrats Lite. It’s time for them to go.

You know, one of the interesting things to observe, when you are discerning the proper stand to take on an issue, or a person (political candidate or not) ... it is very healthy to step back and take a serious and hard look at those who are standing loudly against 'the someone' or 'thing' ... and consider deeply whether you really want to be a part of that or not. Even if you might have good reason to do so.

This Anti-Trump crowd, being echoed loudly by the gOpee propaganda machine now, is looking more and more unattractive each day.

It may not be 'liberal' v 'conservative' in 2016. It may just be 'grandOLDcrap' v 'DisgustedWithgOp'.

I know who wins that battle. Every. Single. Day.

Was having a pint with a friend yesterday. Bar had on CNN and there was a countdown clock on the screen showing how many hours, minutes, seconds until the debate.

Talk about opportunists. 4000% jump in advert rates. Hyping the debate. And they were probably trashing Trump while using him to make millions.

Ballyhooed by the networks (Fox & CNN anyway) as a “major defense announcement”, Trump gave a 15 minutes speech that more like of a brief appearance at a veteran’s organization meeting last night. To be fair he did talk about how he would fill in our hollowed out military and make big changes at the VA. It was broadcast live on the three major cable networks.
That makes three the number of his campaign speeches the have broadcast.

Of course the Republicrats are scared. They are so scared they have not sat down on a toilet in weeks.
Hell, just look at some of the posts here in FR.

Trump has some conservative values and seems to truly love America. He has some questionable or even liberal positions based on his past comments. Some of those may be true positions or they may just be things he hasn’t spent time researching and thinking through.

Sounds like a normal American who thinks for himself! I’ll take that gamble knowing that he has a long history of getting things done!

One question I would like to see asked to Jindal, Fiorina, all the other GOP-E candidates: “Name one Democrat or Democrat policy that you have attacked as vehemently as you have attacked Donald Trump.”

Carly Fiorina - Follower of (Hegelian) Dialectics

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1782609/replies?c=26

For the benefit of those who have not yet heard of the Hegelian Dialectic, let me briefly run through it as taught by Authority Research Center president, Dean Gotcher. The Hegelian Dialectic or “Consensus Process” is a 200 year-old, three-step process of “thesis, antithesis and synthesis”, developed in the late 1700’s by a german named Georg William Friedreich Hegel that results in what we now know as “group-think”. It is a system Dean calls “Praxis” that Socialists have used for centuries to seduce, seize and control mass populations without warfare. It is also in full operation here in the United States under such names as: “Outcome Based Education”, “Goals 2000”, “Sustainable Development”, “School To Work”, “DARE” and many more. It’s all about embracing “tolerance, diversity and unity” for The New World Order. To put it in layman’s terms, it’s brainwashing.

Here’s how it works: A group gathers, and has agreed beforehand that each in attendance will ultimately surrender his or her own personal position on any given issue to the will or “consensus” of the group after *processing to consensus* through dialog. In a Christian setting, the presupposition is that the group’s will determines “the will of God”. The group’s “facilitator”, whoever that may be, mediates between sides, be they “good and evil”, “for and against”, “republican and democrat”, “liberal and conservative”, etc., whatever the case may be, often instigating heated confrontations between the opposing sides for the purpose of suggesting compromise as the perfect solution to restore and maintain the peace and the relationships of everyone involved. The resulting outcome or *consensus* is then re-introduced if necessary, at the next meeting for more “Praxis”, more dialog and more compromise until another “consensus” is reached. Then the “process” repeats all over again...and again...and again until the facilitator’s desired outcome is achieved. Over time, the convictions and concerns anyone may have had originally are processed away beyond recognition or relevance leaving one and all to accept the facilitator’s pre-determined outcome as the consensus of the group. It’s no longer a question of what is right or wrong, good or bad, lawful or unlawful, but rather HOW WE ALL FEEL ABOUT IT...no absolutes, no conscience, no convictions, no laws, no Constitution, no Bible and NO GOD!!!...only consensus....and a contrived consensus at that. Pretty slick huh? That’s the Hegelian Dialectic.

I believe that Trump is only vulnerable to attack from the right.

BUT

It would have to come from someone actually to the right of him.

If the GOPe gets a bunch of RINO’s to attack Trump from the right, it will be laughable.

I have always regarded myself as a Ronald Reagan conservative, but if building a wall on the border with Mexico and deporting illegals is a liberal idea, or if rebuilding the military is a liberal idea, then I must be liberal.

The “gotcha” playbook is out the window. Trump has proved that “politically incorrect” works for him. The others dare not go there.

What makes you trust that he means even that? After all, it wasn’t that long ago that he was criticizing Romney’s immigration proposals as too harsh. Called them “crazy” and “mean spirited,” among other things...

” the rest of our issues later.’

Trump is the only one who has presented a comprehensive plan to gain control of the border.

Trump’s tax reform plan is pretty good too.

His proposal to replace Obama Care is a good proposal

If Trump were president and got those three things done he would go down as one of the greatest conservative presidents of all time.

We need more liberals like that

Trump has topped. We have a narcissist president now. We will not elect another. I prefer Carson. No one knows what Trump’s real views are. His trustworthiness polls are about equally as bad as Hillary’s.

” He’s just a multi-billionaire trying to manipulate you into believing he has answers for the questions he won’t answer now...”

That is a strange take. I don’t support him for those reasons at all. I support him for the positions he has already staked out: immigration, military, trade, manufacturing.
