DES MOINES Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and actress Ellen Page, of Juno fame, got into a testy and free-wheeling discussion Friday over gay rights here at the Iowa State Fair.
Im happy to answer your question but not to have a back-and-forth debate, Cruz told Page, as she pressed him about discrimination against LGBT citizens, approaching him as he flipped pork chops over an open grill. But the two then proceeded to have a spirited exchange over gay rights and whether private businesses florist companies, for example can refuse to cater gay weddings in the name of their religious beliefs.
The discussion, which was held in view of reporters and caught on video for Pages new Vice show, came hours before Cruz hosts a religious liberty rally here in Des Moines, where he will be defending what he sees as that right.

Actors and actresses should keep their politics and sexuality to themsleves. I remember my grandmother slapping me across my face when I was a kid when she wanted me to watch Liberace and I didn’t. I called him a fag. At least he wasn’t out and he never pushed his sexuality down people’s throats.
Agreed. I get to the point where I really don’t want to know, but they still have to force it down my throat.
Hence my safety zone. I am getting old, but not so old that there are not films from the past (30’s, 40’s ...) that I haven’t seen for new entertainment. And I am not talking about well known films either. I jump on one and two star movies knowing that often times they don’t fit some leftist narrative. Granted, some are duds, but there is a lot of great work out there.
Joe D. in Baseball, Mike J. in Basketball, and Ted C. in debating, allstars at what they do better than anyone else.
Ted played with her while continuing to chomp on a burger, toyed with her. This shows why actors read what others write, they can’t put two thoughts together.
OK, now I will chime in; What the hell is the movie juno?
Another Hollywood shrub scout looking to start
A FAGWA.
It had a very nice story and a very nice ending.
Why the hell do our guys allow themselves to be ambushed like this?
Crazy eyes.

Crazy fingers! All of her fingers are the almost same length! I’ve never seen anyone like that.
I agree with you. Cruz is The Man!
you can’t ambush senator Cruz, my friend... definition of unflappable
Well, that gives her like what? 50-75 points on her IQ doesn’t it?
I will never agree that a sexual preference is something that deserves civil rights. Molesting children is a sexual preference too.

Nope. Texas Freeper Marcella has watched him closely; she has remarked before on his ability to tailor his speech to his audience.
Though he is definitely brilliant, Cruz is just one of us, anyway.
Hidden Cam of Muslim bakeries refusing to make a gay wedding cake. Where’s the outrage?

Because muslims don’t pay the homos’ jizya.
Speech therapists evaluated all the candidates speech during this past debate. Cruz was speaking at a 9th grade level. People understood him well. He wouldn't be speaking at a 9th grade level when he had a case before the Supreme Court which he has done numerous times when he was Texas Solicitor General. He does consider the audience before him when speaking to them.
The speech therapists said Trump was speaking at a 3rd grade level. I think this is his normal speech pattern as I don't hear any difference between the way he is speaking now and the way he spoke at the debate.
Do you think Trump would allow some kook to approach him from out of nowhere and try to stump him with a gay rights question? Nope.
Our side is weak and naive.
We need to stop putting ourselves in these positions.
"We'll win with our logic, manners, and debate skills!" doesn't work any more.
