Rising to the occasion in the face of boorish and low-brow behavior is to be commended.

But I do think the FOX moderators were unprofessional at best. The event was called a debate, which my dictionary defines as a formal discussion under a specified procedure. The FOX debacle was a lightning round of “gotcha” questions designed to destroy the candidates and make news. Equal time was not given, especially since the snarky moderators ate up a third of it.

Many million viewers tuned in to see it, including many low-fo voters. Did they learn, perhaps for the first time, about Hillary’s criminal email scandal, that the IRS is being used as a gestapo or that our nation is in debt to the tune of trillions and may go the way of Greece? That Obamacare is wreaking havoc on personal finances and is not a success, or that the work force participation is at a forty-year low? That we still do not know where Obama and Hillary were the night our ambassador was killed in Benghazi?

Not likely, since the questions were mostly of the Barbara Walters variety. I’m surprised Megyn Kelly didn’t ask Ted Cruz “if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?”

Faux has always been an unprofessional news organization. Always late when it comes to breaking news stories.

The world is exploding and Kelly asks doctored Rosie questions without mentioning the nationally aired attack by her on his children, wife and other family.
Also she doctored the knees question making it sound sexual when in the show she was begging on her knees from a fellow player to get a pass.

Kelly is horrible.

I don’t think she was the class act you make her out to be...or the harpy that Trump is trying to make her out to be. All in all I don’t think the Fox panel was all that good.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. WRT the thread title, mine differs from yours.

What was the first question - who will not pledge to support the republican candidate whoever it is and not run as a third party, correct?

Which candidates other than Trump had mentioned the subject? This obviously targeted Trump.

How can anyone ask for the support of an unidentified presidential candidate?

It was nonsense. The debates are now reality TV by design.

I don’t think there was any conspiracy. I think the Fox trio, worked hard to challenge the candidates, and independently from Rupert Murdock or Ailes or anyone else.

You are simply wrong. Google a transcript of the debate, look at the questions that were asked, and come back and try to say that again with a straight face.

Oh Yeah. She was real classy when she appeared on the Howard Stern show talking about her sex life, her husband’s penis, and her breast size.

The question to Trump was similar to - “when did you stop beating your wife?” question. I looked up the incidents and she took them way out of context. One was on a segment of the “Apprentice” show with a Playboy model. Another man made the comment about the Playboy model being down on her knees begging. Then Trump made his comment. This was a set up piece by the producers to garner laughs. The Playboy model says she doesn’t even remember the incident and she remembers Trump as a real good person.

Megyn continued to argue with Trump. She’s supposed to be a moderator. This had nothing to do with the issues.

A picture tells a thousand words and there is no better example then the one below where Megyn is strutting to the debate stage with her "posse" in tow. It is obvious that Megyn sees herself as the star here and she has every intention of getting up on that stage and grabbing all the attention for herself. The debates themselves were just a sideshow, simply a vehicle for her to put herself in front of 25 million viewers.

I don't even think it mattered to her that Trump was her target that night. If Trump was not participating, no doubt she would go after one of the other candidates just as ferociously. Perhaps she would have had some "gotcha" zingers ready for Ted Cruz or Chris Christie.

Megyn is no class act but an attention-seeking media whore who hijacked a debate and made it all about her. Journalism took a back seat that night and just take a look at the picture below to see how full of herself she is.
