Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were apparently huge cry babies on the set of Full House, and John Stamos says he tried to get them fired for it.
Its sort of true that the Olsen twins (who were 18-months-old) cried a lot, Stamos said at the Television Critics Associations semi-annual press tour in Beverly Hills. He added that the twins made shooting Full House very difficult and he requested to get them out!

Young child actors are well-known to be difficult to work with, tantrums and the like. Thats just what toddlers do.

Not Shirley Temple and the other kids from those satire movies..
They were made to sit on blocks of ice and locked in a trailer to teach them to stop crying...
Shirley told it all several years ago in her book..
also their parents were not allowed on the set..
Maybe the Jackson Five should follow the Beach Boys lead and add John Stamos their group.
It’s not just you. I thought the same thing when the show first aired, although I don’t like thinking that about precious little ones. I felt very sorry for those babies, and now even more so.
My best buddy played lead guitar on a couple of Ricky’s kid’s tours. He says they are great guys. Show business is in their blood. I miss Ricky’s great music! I was a fan of Ozzie and Harriet’s show, and really looked forward to Ricky singing a song. Also a huge James Burton fan! And Ozzie knew James was special! They’d zoom in the camera on James when he played his solos. Specially on the classic “Hello Mary Lou.”
Didn’t like the show at all. I only looked at it a few times just to see Lori Laughlin. Seeing HER was worth all the rest of the crap of that show.
They weren’t that cute back then and are even less so now.
Mr McKey; “Drugs are bad, m’kay.
The look a good 10 years older than their biological age, though the one on the right looks much worse!!
Mr Mackay - Grrrr,
On “Full House”, it was cute the first 37 times little Michelle would say “Let’s party, dudes!”, but after a while I was in favor of deporting the Olsen twins.
That’s interesting, but not surprising. Still. Ricky and James abdo-lutely killed it!
Yikes. That heroin must be reallllly good for you.
Agreed...esp re: James Burton - hugely underrated geetarist. Dean Parks was another great studio geetarist in that same vein.
Rick Nelson was a true superstar in every sense - tragic death. “Travelin’ Man” was always my favorite.
“hugely underrated geetarist”
Not in Country circles. He’s very highly regarded! Even The American Pickers were in awe!
Yeppers.
JB did a lot of studio work, too. IIRC, he did some “Sheffield” audiophile recordings that were mastered at the famous “Mastering Lab” located on Sunset in Hollywood...at least when i loved there.
Oh! A tremendous amount of studio work. But still, His solo on “Hello Mary Lou” just kills me!
They had a couple of pretty good albums back in the day. Wish they had more success.
So - if the twins were in your favorite restaurant and crying away, you would be fine with it?
...like so many other Hollywoods stars before them.
Hope they make it.
