The cubs fathered by Cecil the lion are being protected by his brother amid fears they will be killed by a male rival, researchers said today.
The much-loved lion was killed by American dentist Walter Palmer earlier this month, sparking outrage around the world.
After his death, there were fears his cubs would be killed by the next lion in the hierarchy so he could father his own offspring with the females in the pride.
But a team at Oxford University's Wildlife Conservation Unit, which had been studying Cecil before he was shot dead, said the lion's brother had stepped in to safeguard the young.

Cruelty is African nations where big game is not maintained due to legal hunting not bringing in big bucks for their countries, which would make their game valuable. Those nations cannot afford to maintain that game because they place on it NO VALUE

Here is the real story. Cecil and his “brother” were gay lions who lived in a pride with females to avoid homophobic lion society. They wanted children so they took over a pride by killing the alpha male. Being kind and sensitive lions they adopted the cubs as their own. The American hunter heard about this and being a homophobic Romney supporter decided to murder Cecil.
In my opinion these weren’t Cecil’s cubs...Cecil’s brother has been hitting Cecil’s old lady behind Cecil’s back...probably while he was working the night shift. Most likely Lazmataz was in line also.

That being said, trophy hunting raises money to help maintain the wildlife refuges. The dentist paid over 50 grand to get permits to kill this lion. Of course, Zimbabwe is totally corrupt and most of this will probably end up in Mugabes pocket, but where well regulated trophy hunting fees do help maintain the wildlife refuges.
