(CNN)—Coca-Cola wants everyone to imagine a world without labels. And as an example, the beverage company is dropping its own.

Coke has introduced a new version of its iconic red-and-white can in Middle Eastern countries for Ramadan, the Muslim holiday that ends July 17. The new red cans feature Coke's signature dynamic ribbon but not the words "Coca-Cola" and are intended to promote open-mindedness and tolerance.

The backs of the cans bear the message "Labels are for cans, not people."

Is that promoting tolerance or showing off just how powerful their branding is?

Dear Coca Cola Corp.
Thank you so much for your genius idea of label-free cans.
Now true pervert haters will know which cars to key, and which groups to target at a glance.

Worked for the Yellow Star, too...

Pervert MORONS!!

That's an excellent observation. I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet.

You would think a major Fortune 500 company would just stick to selling its product and boosting the stock price.

Stay out of politics.

That was not idiocy, but a well-planned way to remove regular refined sugar and replace it with HFCS, which is cheaper but tastes slightly different.

“new Coke” to “classic Coke” back to “Coke”.

Didn’t change the recipe, just a way of changing the ingredients to a cheaper one. You’ll note that you can get original Coke in Mexico, and occasionally in stores that cater to the Hispanic population...

The names were actually a pretty interesting marketing device.

The no-logo is a pretty dumb one, IMO.

Yeah right there is no label on the cans. Nothing at all to let you know it contains a certain product.

M’kay.

The problem I saw with the names is that people could end up searching for their own names and discarding cans with names other than their own. It seems that it might narrow the consumer’s choice instead of broadening it. But I could be the only one who thinks that way. I didn’t like it, in any case.

Labels help me identify the things that are bad for me, like coca-cola, among other things.

Since it doesn’t have a label, I don’t know what’s in it, I ain’t drinking it.

When I was young my mom used to tease me cause I drank Coke. She’d say “You know Coke is a Democrat drink, Pepsi is for Republicans”.

I think a lot of people saw it as a treasure hunt type of thing. I no longer drink soda at all, so I was unaffected. LOL

So...does this mean I can drink Coke and fly a Confederate flag, with Coke’s support? After all, it means no one can label me a racist...including Coca-Cola.

The backs of the cans bear the message "Labels are for cans, not people."

Slogans are for Mad Men and morons.

Coke has introduced a new version of its iconic red-and-white can in Middle Eastern countries for Ramadan, the Muslim holiday that ends July 17.

Finally a chance to use that "hand grenade of happiness" slogan they bought from a trendy ad agency.

Promotes Tolerance by being intolerant to all others who disagree.
