Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) said Wednesday on C-SPANs Newsmakers that the tax revenue from legalized marijuana sales in his state will go in part towards treating drug addiction.
When asked how much Oregon will tax legalized marijuana and how the tax revenue will be spent, Blumenauer said it will be allocated among a number of things, one of which will be to deal with addiction.
Voters decided that its available to deal with addiction, people who are addictedwhether its to a drug or alcohol, gamblingwe need more resources, he said, adding that some voters want it to go towards law enforcement and education.

That is obviously an excessively detailed overreach of the salient concept. No, not all marijuana users will eventually turn to Heroin, but a lot of people will be encouraged by legal drugs to push deeper, and those people will eventually end up on some much worse life destroying drug.
And that statement is not intended to minimize the damage caused to people's lives from being pot-heads. Drug addicts invariably start out on weed.
Again an attempt to discredit a larger concept by trying to focus on specifics. I'm back to the need of that Fission analogy.
You set the goal post. Now, leave it there.
Not at all. You are trying to make that other man's words come out of my mouth. You might have noticed by now that I didn't make the original statement, I simply affirmed its validity as a general principle, and continue to do so despite your efforts to discredit it by focusing on exceptions.
Tthis isn’t a play, this is reality. And in reality the gateway drug theory has been known to be false for a very very long time.
No it hasn't. Libertarians just keep spreading this claim along with all their other false claims. It's what they do.
The original statement was not proffered seriously, but rather as sarcasm precisely because copious exceptions belie the validity of the general principle.
If you grasped this essential difference, why are you making an issue out of it?
Democrats in WA State want to lower the marijuana tax and raise the B and O tax on small businesses.
Nope:

you’re wrong. The gateway drug theory is bunk, known to be bunk, and anybody relying on it is making false claims. It’s what you do.
Because your inability to discern parody from reality demonstrates just how far down the rabbit hole you've gone.
You can piss all you want, but we know it isn't rain. Any study which claims that Marijuana doesn't lead to harder drugs for some people is simply wrong on the face of it.
That's one thing about the Libertarians and the Gay Activists. They are both always creating studies to "prove" that their kooky theories are correct. Sensible people don't pay them any mind.
Yes, the guy who Insisted on following a very literal interpretation of the comment is pointing out how off base someone else is.
This from the guy who insists it's as mathematically predictable as radiometric decay.
It's as UNPREDICTABLE as radioactive decay.
But we've been over this.
Yup.
The general principle is held to be self-evidently true, because exceptions must be disregarded and conclusions based on instances where it is found to be true.
You Libertarians are fond of your misrepresentations and double talk, i'll give you that.
So would Alinsky.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The facts are in, the gateway theory is bunk. If you continue to use it you’re just a liar. Of course we knew that already.
A D@mn I do not give regarding your opinion of the gateway theory. I have the best reference sources that it is in fact true. I have much experience in the drug culture, and every addlepated drug addict I have ever spoke with started out with weed.
You have no business talking to anyone about "Facts" with your made up bullsh*t libertarian agenda pushing crap.
