Michigan Woman: I've Got the World's Longest Tongue

Eighteen-year-old Adrianne Lewis of Twin Lake, Michigan, has a tongue so long, it could make a giraffe blush.
In fact, she believes she has the longest tongue in the world. It’s so long – at 4 inches – that she can even touch her eye with it.
“I feel as though I may have inherited it, but I think with time and me sticking out my tongue a lot as a kid, [I] could have stretched it,” Lewis said. “My mom, grandmother and my great-grandfather all had very long tongues.”
Lewis said children teased her in elementary school.
“I would just flick my tongue in bullies’ faces and freak them out,” she said.
In May 2016, Lewis’ tongue is scheduled to appear in Ripley’s Believe It or Not’s annual book.
“She’s certainly not the first long tongue story we’ve ever done, but it’s definitely a ‘believe it or not,’” Edward Meyer, vice president of exhibits for Ripley’s told USA Today. “As an editor, I see that kind of story and it brings a smile to my face and I want the world to know about it."
