First, Rolling Stone needs to make an abject and unqualified apology to the members of the fraternity (who had to cower in their frat house while a mob outside was throwing bricks through their windows).

Second, Rolling Stone needs to repeat that.

Rinse and wash again.

Then, it can get on with explaining how it hopes its “mistakes” don’t discourage others from reporting their rapes, etc (as per the official PC narrative).

Amazing how when a bunch of lefttards say “Sorry”, all is forgiven.

When a conservative or a Republican does it, they are banished from the public eye forever.

My first encounter with leftist show trials where the “seriousness of the charges” trump the facts is when Judge Bork and Clarence Thomas were both subject to “hi-tech lynching.” The liars on the left will pay one way or another, whether temporally or eternally. Meanwhile this is their meme, and it works well with an ignorant population.

No sanctions, no one loses their job, no consequences at all. Summing up the article in one sentence: “Gee, sorry; we’ll try to do better next time”

As I recall, the University President immediately suspended the frat in question, put all other frats under some kind of probation, and seemed to jump all over this fake story.

Will anyone take the college President to task?

Rolling Stone’s fundamental mistake, Mr. Dana said, was in suspending any skepticism about Jackie’s account because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Bullshit!

The story fit the narrative and Rolling Stone ran with it as fast as they could, salivating all the while.

On Sunday, Ms. Erdely, in her first extensive comments since the article was cast into doubt, apologized to Rolling Stone’s readers, her colleagues and “any victims of sexual assault who may feel fearful as a result of my article.”

Gee, no apology to the real victims - the fraternity.

But apologies to other victims of sexual assault?

Rolling Stone is now a laughingstock among serious people. Their goal is to advance their own politics, and so they are blind to the possibility that they are lied to when the story aligns with their view of the world.

They got played, and not by “evil conservatives” but by people who share their own views and used their own tactics.

To Rolling Stone: Go home, sit in silence, pray to discover whether you have any morals at all. If you think you have received an answer in the affirmative, emerge with humility and ask forgiveness.

We know the reasons you did this. We don’t think you know them yet, or at least are unwilling to face the truth of it.

Anyone else see the irony in the New York Times reporting on made-up news?

The lawsuit will take care of that.

“Amazing how when a bunch of lefttards say “Sorry”, all is forgiven.

When a conservative or a Republican does it, they are banished from the public eye forever.”

It is something like when a woman or a protected species claims something happened to them like a “hate crime” the media always takes their word and hides their identity but publishes the name of the evil “perp”.

Anytime there is a “he said-she said” crime I favor a lie detector used on both parties even though it isn’t always accurate. It would minimize false charges. Also the names of both Parties are either published or no names published until a trial. This political correctness immunity and secrecy for some and while full fledged publicity that ruins others that are amongst the PC unprotected class needs to end.

Someone needs to face criminal time in this case as a deterrent. “I’m sorry” doesn’t cut it.
