As KCAL9’s Stacey Butler reports, vocal crowds gathered outside the student center at UCI on Tuesday evening. A student government meeting at UC Irvine scheduled for Tuesday evening was canceled due what school officials described as a violent threat.
Officials would not specify the threat, but described it as a “viable threat of violence” that was serious enough to cancel the meeting, which was planned in response to a vote last week to ban the display of all flags before a higher student panel overturned it.
The meeting this evening was to discuss overriding the veto, according to UCI spokeswoman Cathy Lawhon

“Don’t tell me to be quiet! Get out of my face,” one woman said. “You put this flag up and you’re like, ‘America this, America that!’ It does nothing for you.”
Robert McLogan, a flag supporter, countered: “Your First Amendment right is being expressed right now. That’s what this flag stands in the embodiment of the Constitution.”

This kind of crap only happens because someone else is paying these idiots’ tuition.

California Democrats repealed the ban on Communists and Seditionists teaching in the schools and the first thing that happens is the US flag is banned.
It’s more a result of the multiculturalism that California got stuck with via mass immigration from the third world.
About ten years ago an Asian girl was valedictorian at UCI and her speech was a blistering condemnation of America. It was printed in the paper but there wasn’t much public reaction to it.
Gratitude for and love of America don’t come just because they live here. A lot of these kids have a chip on their shoulder and there’s plenty of college courses that reinforce it.

Except if you read the article, it is a Vietnamese immigrant behind the protection of the flag.
That’s not a surprise. Vietnamese haven’t forgotten all the American blood spilled for their country. Their families didn’t simply buy a plane ticket and come to America on a whim, they escaped under brutal conditions and were rescued by us. They are grateful. The elders remember and won’t put up with anyone trashing this country.
That’s not the same for many of our other “guests” who embrace the victimology game as soon as they set foot here, joining the let’s bash whitey chorus.
When I visited San Francisco a few years ago, it was the Chinese immigrants protesting against Communism and the trustifarian white kids advocating for Communism.
Frankly, UC Berkeley became a much nicer place once the citizens of California repealed affirmative action and turned it into admission on merit. Asian students, who are probably now a majority at Cal, were the ones who benefited by that. And they are going to Cal to get a good education, not to whine about all sorts of things that they know are nonsense. The Democrats have tried to reenact a racial quota system by different names at UC Berkeley, but this has so infuriated Asians, especially Chinese in San Francisco, that they have had to back off.

...bad argument. These boneheads don’t believe in and/or know what the “Constitution” is. They major in “African Art”, “Lesbian Cultural Studies” and “Puppetry”.
i always say, just wait until people can’t afford food for their kids, you’ll see how fast all this stupidity stops.
