When I visited San Francisco a few years ago, it was the Chinese immigrants protesting against Communism and the trustifarian white kids advocating for Communism.
Frankly, UC Berkeley became a much nicer place once the citizens of California repealed affirmative action and turned it into admission on merit. Asian students, who are probably now a majority at Cal, were the ones who benefited by that. And they are going to Cal to get a good education, not to whine about all sorts of things that they know are nonsense. The Democrats have tried to reenact a racial quota system by different names at UC Berkeley, but this has so infuriated Asians, especially Chinese in San Francisco, that they have had to back off.
