A Chinese girl with a rare medical problem has the appearance of a child - despite being 19-years-old.
Zeng Yushan was born in June 1994 in the township of Huzhu in Fushun County in south-western China's Sichuan Province.
At seven years old, she stopped growing and was diagnosed with a tumour on her pituitary gland, which caused a deficiency in growth hormones.
The pituitary gland is found behind the bridge of the nose and below the base of the brain, and is about the size of a pea.
It releases hormones growth and puberty hormones, among others, directly into the blood stream.
Tumours on the pituitary gland - though rare - can stop people growing and developing normally, said Ashley Grossman, professor of endocrinology at Oxford University.
He told MailOnline: 'If you've got a pituitary tumour, it can stop growth hormones being released.
'You end up like a Tom Thumb person that looks small but is perfectly formed.

Zeng Yushan, 19 (left), has the appearance of a seven-year-old as she stopped growing at this age due to a rare tumour on her pituitary gland. This gland releases growth and puberty hormones
She might be a vampire.
Tin Drum.
This is very possibly a hoax.
Given the topic and headline, I’m going out on a limb to say the “(left)” was unnecessary. :-) Now if the balding guy on the right is the girl, somebody needs specs.
She's got the mind of a child
And a body peaking over the hill
Well, she would if she could
And she should but nobody will
With her nails painted red
And her hair so unnaturally curled
Well I think that she may be
The oldest baby in the world
She's tasted the night life
But it's left her with nothing but hunger
And all the available men
Seem to think that they want something younger
But youth is a costume
And the beauty within lies unfurled
And I think that she may be
The oldest baby in the world
Fast horses win races
And royal flushes beat aces
And everyone's playing for keeps
So let's turn out the lights
And rock that old baby to sleep
She loves the sound of the rain
But you know she's still afraid of the thunder
She keeps a head full of hope
And a heart that's so full of wonder
She may look like a woman
But she's still some daddy's little girl
And I think that she may be
The oldest baby in the world
Yes, I think that she may be
The oldest baby in the world
She’d make a darn good deep cover spy.
You are only young once but you can be immature forever!
The opposite problem is that a tumor on the pituitary gland can cause an uncontrolled release of growth hormone and cause giantism, which is a far worse problem than looking 7.
According to the article her mental state is that of a small child as well.
And because she is actually 20, they won’t let her attend school.
I was thinking of what an incredible hitman she would make.
Chines have Vampires?...........If they did, there would be no Chinese!..............Why?
Because an hour after they fed, they’d be hungry again!..............
Dat ain’t no guy!..................
True, health problems galore!............

LOL!
Women make good hitmen because of their ability to get inside of security better and get closer to targets, a female child could do magical things.
I saw some documentary about a marine attack on some town in Afghanistan. Embedded National Geographic reporter and cameras. In one of the scenes the marines are talking with the locals and want to use their home. This one local kid looks to be about 5 years old. He is cussing up a storm about the terrorists, the marines, etc. Then they show him smoking, and negotiating with the marines for use of the house. In the background a marine says “No S*** - he’s 20!?”
