Val Kilmer's family 'believe he DOES have a tumor' and is refusing medical treatment 'because of his Christian Science beliefs'
He took to his Facebook page to deny reports that he has a throat tumor over the weekend.
But now TMZ reports that family members of Val Kilmer believe the actor is in denial over his health, and is refusing treatment due to his belief in the Christian Science religion.
TMZ report that members of Val's family have known about the tumor since summer, and urged him to see a doctor, but Christian Science followers are known to believe that prayers heal over medical treatment.
Religious beliefs: Kilmer is known to be a devout followers of Christian Science
According to the insider, anyone who persisted with asking the actor to seek medical help was simply cut out of his life.
However, the family is hopeful his attitude is changing as when he began coughing up blood last week, he has become more receptive to treatment.
Kilmer is known as a devout Christian Scientist, although he once said in a 2005 interview that it was 'quite a challenging faith'.
The 55-year-old took to his Facebook page early on Saturday to deny reports that he had undergone an operation for his throat.
He wrote: 'Thank you for all your sweet support. But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation.
'I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU.'
The star did not shed any more light on what he was at the medical centre for, but those around him are keeping a tight-lip about the matter.

I am posting this because there is a conflict between religion and medical science here. The Christian Science religion in this case.
Prayer can work but take care of the medical side too. Maybe God told you this when you were praying. God can help but you have to help too in the material world of medical treatment and even alternative medical treatments.
In the late 1970s...I had a cousin who married a guy connected to the same religious group. She had health issues, and simply delayed treatment. At some point...a friend of the family contacted her dad and he walked in to claim his daughter....taking her to a local hospital. She was probably within three days of dying if he hadn’t done that.
Her husband and the local church group cut her off. Respect for them dwindled after that. She later happily divorced the guy.

You think his death from throat cancer will be as peaceful as his Doc Holiday death?
A truly saved person by the Holy Blood of Christ has nothing to fear.
If Val is refusing treatment because of his beliefs, then it could likely lead to his death. That said, a born again person only dies once.
I’m praying for his full recovery.
An Iowa farmer watched the floodwaters rise to his front porch. Finally, a man in a boat said, Jump in, and Ill take you to safety.
The farmer crossed his arms and said stubbornly, Oh no thanks, I put my trust in God. The boat left, and eventually the water rose to the second story.
Another boat arrived: Hurry, jump in. Ill save you.
The farmer again said, Oh no thanks, I put my trust in God.
That boat left, and the water continued rising, eventually inching over the roof. As the farmer stood on the roof, a helicopter lowered a ladder. The pilot yelled, Ill save you. Climb the ladder.
The farmer yelled back, Oh no thanks, I put my trust in God.
The water continued to rise and finally the farmer drowned.
The farmer arrived in heaven, and God asked, What are you doing here?
I put my trust in you, and you let me down.
What do you mean, let you down? I sent you two boats and a helicopter!
Even if Val Kilmer was foolish enough to turn the boats away, I hope he will take the helicopter.
Exactly correct.
Prayer works because God still heals. I've seen it in my own life and in the lives of those around me.
The question is "How does God heal?
Sometimes He heals miraculously (I've seen this) and sometimes He uses doctors to do the healing (I've seen this too).
Luke, the writer of the gospel, was a physician. Do you think he abandoned all the good things God had revealed to him about how the body works when he decided to follow Jesus? I think he continued doing what he was called to do (be a healer).
EXACTLY! I could not put it any better. Take the helicopter Val!!!
***** God helps him who helps himself
***** Take One Step Toward God and He Takes Two Steps Toward You
Yep!
God can heal directly through prayer...OK but this is difficult and beyond most of us. Maybe we don’t have enough merit.
HOWEVER in this modern America God has provided many medical agents that can help you heal. So pray for wisdom to choose what will work for you.
We are blessed and fortunate to have so many good effective medical choices and alternative med choices such as osteopaths and chiropractors. Whatever will do the job!
Hope Val recovers! LOVED his Doc Holiday in TOMBSTONE!
I don’t wish cancer on anyone but Val seems to be an egotistical jerk. Here’s one example. http://www.military-money-matters.com/val-kilmer.html
I see a some doritos and a nice ale in my future LOL
Modern medical science and treatment is part of the way God has answered our prayers.
Prayers for his health.
Well I hope he gets treatment and recovers but it is still a semi-free country. If the guy wants to count on God to save him who am I to argue?
Not a real genius, eh?
