New Jersey governor Chris Christie has landed himself in hot water after he was caught enthusiastically celebrating a victory for the Dallas Cowboys. Christie was filmed hugging Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones and his son Stephen in a garish orange sweater after Dallas defeated Detroit Lions in a match yesterday. A native of New Jersey, Christie follows the Cowboys despite his team having a long-standing rivalry with the New York Giants in his own state as they play in the same NFL conference every year. He also cheers for the Cowboys ahead of his state's other NFL team, the New York Jets, and the Philadelphia Eagles, who are popular in south Jersey and also divisional rivals of the Cowboys.

Am I the only Freeper who watches Dallas Cowboy games just for the pleasure of watching Jerry Jones cry when they lose?

Yesterday was tough. But there is always next week.

While two teams play their home games in New Jersey, neither of them chooses to identify with New Jersey. They both claim New York as their home. The NJ Gov owes them no allegiance.

I live in Memphis. Before the Titans set up shop in Tennessee, I always told people that we already had a team here in my fair state. They just happen to play their home games in Texas Stadium. Shows where my loyalties lie.

We live in Missouri. I have loved the Cowboys since birth and the Chiefs as well. My son loves the Ravens and my brother is a Raiders fan. Football games are fun at my house.

Yep. They didn’t hold the parade for the Giants in Newark, did they?

The story ends on the frozen tundra of Green Bay next weekend.

They didn't want to risk not having tires on the floats and other parade vehicles.

This is a surprise? He was at a Dallas game several weeks ago and got all excited when they won.

As a life long Cowboys fan, I can honestly say that seeing CC in the suite doesn’t make me feel very comfortable. J. Jones is rich AND he is very liberal in his politics, which means he probably would financially support that tub-o-lard CC!

But, with that being said, CC should be allowed to cheer for whomever he pleases! After the Cowboys, I always root for Tampa Bay - even back when they had those lovely creamsicle uniforms!

Not necessary to state, but going to anyway, I always root for ANYONE playing against the Washington Redskins!

I’m sure he would cheer for the eagles jets or giants if any of them were actually in the playoffs.

Is NFL Referee Head, Dean Blandino, somewhere in that sausagefest as well? ;-)

He's also a huge NY Ranger fan. You like the teams you like...simple as that.

Another thing to consider is maybe Chris and Jerry Jones are good friends and JJ invited him to his booth. Nothing wrong with that!

On TV, I watched him jumping up and down right after the Cowboys' win and I was skeered that he was going to cause an earthquake and cause AT&T Stadium to fall in.

Who cares. I’m surely a goodly number of New York football fans voted for the Burgermeister Wilhelm, Andrew Coomo, Hitlery Clintoon, Upchuck Schumer, et al.

Yep. I could care less what football team he roots for.

I am, however, very disturbed by the kissy face scene with ObaMao that helped the Kenyan extend his misrule by four more years.

I agree that Christie Creme does not truly have a "home team" in New Jersey. However, I do think people with teams in their city should "root for the home team". While I feel that way, I don't lose sleep over the fact that some people don't agree with me.

As a kid growing up in Alabama, there were no professional sports teams. Most people there were into college sports, or you picked a team from another state. I was a fan of the Baltimore Colts and the L.A. Dodgers through the 60's. After my family moved to Houston, TX in 1969, I became a fan of the local teams and abandoned my devotion to those teams from other states.
