On May 17, 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas, that state laws establishing separate public schools for Black and white students were unconstitutional, violating the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The 9-0 decision was hailed as a major victory for the civil rights of African-Americans, paving the way for the integration of the nations schools. But in retrospect, while there was reason to celebrate the court decision, there were also many things the Black community lost after the Brown decision.

But only for blacks. White people would be racist.
Zora Neale Hurston was so far ahead of her time.
You cannot justify your comment in terms of the circumstances surrounding the phenomenon, you describe. The single most significant factor in undermining pride & identity in family values in both races was the switch in school policy. If you look at the birth statistics in both major races, from the late 1950s onward, you will see an absolute explosion in births out of wedlock in both races.
It was not necessarily the integration per se; but it was accompanied by other social agitations, designed to trivialize lines of descent, family pride, etc.. What I call "trashing grandma." In both races, girls were encouraged to reject the sort of advice--appealing to pride in one's own family values, etc..--that girls were likely to get at their grandmother's knee.
Indeed, if you look at the principle figures in sociological fields, whom the Supreme Court cited in Brown in support of their decision, you will see where the Marxist influence came in. It was all predictable. Myrdal in an American dilemma admitted that his views might seriously damage the Black Middle-Class.

Even when segregation was prohibited, whites still lived in white neighborhoods and blacks still lived in black neighborhoods so while schools were not purposely segregated, they still remained largely homogeneous. The Feds and the social engineers just couldn't tolerate that so they used lawsuits to force school districts to bus blacks into white neighborhoods and occasionally visa-versa. This forced integration of poor (monetarily, scholastically, and behaviorally) students into nice schools was a large factor in the flight of the middle class into suburbs.

They want you to click on five pages to read a short, one page article.
Now I have to check this out and see if a sarcasm tag is missing from your post.
Yes, but a trip down that road has the potential to go quite badly. Can you imagine what could happen if we educate the country’s children according to skin color and/or parent’s heritage? Mexican schools, Somalian schools, black schools, white schools...it’s pretty easy to paint someone with a different skin color as the enemy and pure evil if from as a child on, you never have contact with one. In Minnesota’s history there was tremendous animosity between the Norwegian immigrants an the German immigrants, it was the kids getting to know each other in school that overcame it as the churches were all separate.
I don’t believe in bussing to force integration nor do I think public schools are a good option, ever. But as long as public schools are the way a majority of our kids are educated they should be assigned based on proximity to the student’s home not skin color.
It’s never a two-way street.
Oh Gawd, yeah! Even a white liberal couldn’t say that.
The rule is they want to be separate when and where they want and to integrate when and where they want. You don't get a vote.
You've been the victim of a micro-agression.
With whomever mutually agrees.
So what did “atlantawhitestar.com” have to say about the issue?
I have some personal experience with this. My family lived in the East Bay during the 60s and early 70s, and we were involved in a busing experiment. My two siblings and I attended MLK Elementary School in Richmond, CA for a year (I was in the 4th grade). It was quite the experience. I did get in a couple fights, but only with other white kids (go figure).
If I did that today, I'd probably end up dead.
The wrong conclusion that they’ve reached is that black culture can’t succeed because it is competing in a “white” (Western) cultural setting,
and that if only they were functioning with their culture within their own cultural expectations and rules,
they’d prosper.
It’s not true, and can be demonstrated.
The WESTERN (not, “white”, but actually “Christian”) cultural values are what cause prosperity -
WHEREVER THEY ARE TRIED.
Take the Jews as a positive example - by following the Jewish cultural ethics derived from the Word of God, they prosper no matter what society they are placed in.
The reverse never is true. And it’s because of the absolute superiority of one cultural set of values over the other - not because there is some “majority advantage” or “white privilege”.
Forced integration is as bad as forced segregation. Just leave people alone.
Does anyone care what whites lost when schools were integrated?
