A divergence in African American culture has made it easy for people to categorize "good" and "bad" blacks separately—and that's a huge problem

My parents sent me to an all-white elementary school when I was 4. I speak and think differently than them because of it. This is a small, common tragedy of black life that we don’t talk about: the best way for me to find success in my own country was to be immersed in a culture entirely different from my parents’ and adopt it as my own. But that experience taught me lessons that I now find intuitive–how to find common ground with different people, how to come off as non-threatening to others, how to chalk up racist statements to a misunderstanding. You could probably label me clean and articulate, like my President.

There are a lot of black people like me now who grew up straddling two different racial worlds. Blackish, the only comedy on broadcast TV featuring a prominent African American cast, is centered on this increasingly prevalent concept of black identity. I don’t want to paint my experience as some painful upbringing. I had a big, loving family and, eventually, great friends of all races. But I fear some people are learning the wrong lessons when they meet black people like me–that I am somehow more acceptable or less problematic than other black folks. That Mike Brown, Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin should have behaved exactly like me to avoid being killed.

That has applied to virtually every other wave of immigrants that have come to this country. If you refuse to assimilate, then you condemn yourself to a life as an outsider. Every immigrant has had to abandon some of the culture of the "old country". It's not such a terrible thing.

The most important thing is language. You must learn and use standard English, and that means you must abandon dialects of English such as "Ebonics".

"Condemn"? Exactly how, and what power does anyone possess to "condemn" anyone? I'm not buying into this "boo hoo I'm black and you're a racist for noticing...and if you don't notice I'll act out until you do!" routine.

Obama and his ilk are throwing a tantrum of straw men into the mix to stir up his "peoples" because of him being rejected by the American voters.

Sharpton and his gang can march until their pants fall the rest of the way down for all I care, but all they are doing to solidifying the profiling they are supposedly marching against.

With the governors of New York and Missouri folding like cheap suits, shuddering in fear of the angry black men they use as backdrops, it's time for the people to mount a recall in both those states.

If I was a cop in either of those states - having been reduced to a moving target - I would quit, and move away. They're getting it from both sides, the peoples, and the government...it's a lose-lose situation.

The reaction to these black "leaders" is to adopt a no-nonsense, zero tolerance rule, and if they don't like it, move to another state.

Remove the names and locations from these stories and you have nothing more than Alquida/ISIS, or the Chicago "protection racket"...give us what we want or we'll cause trouble.

There were a few incidences in Fergason where merchants stood guard over their property, with weapons, and one lone driver moved them away from him, with a weapon. That's what it's going to take. You either give them your stuff, or you protect your stuff...that is your only choices. Negotiation works about as well with them as it does with Iran...nada.

Load a couple of looter's (i.e. thug's)butts up with 6-shot when they invade your place, and it will slow down, maybe even stop. They prey on the weak, as do all parasites.

This guy is probably not “black enough” - like some team members were rumured to have said about QB Russell Wilson. When Wilson was asked about it he laughed and said “Yeah - I read that. I’m not even sure what that means!” (Although I am guessing that he DOES know what it means, but at least he was trying to get away from the racist comments.)
