Government health advisers have concerns about lifting a nationwide ban on blood donations from gay and bisexual men, despite growing pressure against the policy from gay rights advocates, medical experts and blood banks.
The ban dates from the first years of the AIDS epidemic and was intended to protect the U.S. blood supply from exposure to the little-understood disease.

FDA advisers should be beaten to death by victims of blood-borne disease.
This is unfair to malaria victims. The ban should be lifted for them also.
Address of these “advisors” please.
Publish them, learn them.
And wait.
Seriously, it’s long past time that we start playing the liberal game.
They should worry.
A lot.
PC will kill us all.
And Hepatitis sufferers, and those who were in the UK during the Mad Cow Disease outbreak. After all, not everyone who was there actually contracted Mad Cow Disease.
We have a better game than the liberal one, and that is the one that ought to be played. Protecting the alleged privacy of these “advisors” does not have to be part of said game, of course.
Sounds like you’ve been through the questions a few times also. 23 gal. donor here.
So now we have to be liberal about blood donations. We don’t want to hurt the self esteem of homosexuals, who according to objective health criteria, are at much higher risk of having tainted blood then others. We have to be politically correct in the area of blood donations. And why should we do this? Not for health reasons. It appears that this may be done just for reasons of political correctness and yielding to pressures from liberal.pressure groups.
Just another in a long line of attacks on the country by Barry Ebola??
Not nearly that much myself, because of twelve pregnancies and recurrent anemia, but I’ve been through the drill.
Guess families will have to stockpile their own blood supply in lorder not to risk being infected.
A truly stupid idea if they do it.
Perhaps even more blood donors could be found if patients in hospitals weren’t so unfairly excluded.
You just have to wonder how blitheringly stupid things have to get before the highly esteemed geniuses who come up with these ideas say “whoa!”
Since 1/5 gay men are infected with HIV (not to mention staggering rates of viral hepatitis and antibiotic resistance), this strikes me as insane.

I can’t give blood because I traveled to certain countries at certain times and could have theoretically eaten a mad cow (despite such cows never being in the kosher food chain since sick animals are not kosher). And that rate is like 1/25,000,000,000 or lower.
Remember Paul Michael Glaser from Starsky and Hutch? His wife and two kids were both killed by homo blood transfusions. I bet he’s happy about this.

In a world with a creditable MSM, you would be right, of course.
However, the MSM is not creditable, and the times will soon demand that we return the favor of making them sweat.
Should something bad come of the blood situation, you can rest assured that the information will be 1) withheld, then 2) distorted, and finally 3) changed a la 1984 such that it never happened.
