(CNN) -- A 5-year-old boy who recently returned from Ebola-stricken West Africa is under observation at New York City's Bellevue Hospital Center after experiencing a fever, Dr. Ram Raju said on CNN on Monday.

The boy is undergoing an evaluation, which includes taking a thorough history of the child's recent travel with his family to West Africa and finding out if he's come into contact with people who have Ebola, said Raju, the president of New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, which oversees Bellevue.
CNN's Chris Cuomo asked why the child wasn't simply tested for Ebola right away, and Raju answered that officials need to establish first whether he had any contact with Ebola sufferers. He is with his mother, Raju said.

If the test is positive, I want Obama on the next flight to NYC do do some fund-raising.

It didn’t bother me. I think the chance of any of his patients’ having been to Africa is slim, but suddenly it seems like everyone’s coming and going from Africa. I don’t even go to Raleigh.
CNN says his first test is negative. I say “first,” because that has been the case with some people who later tested positive.
theyre going to keep him isolated at the hospital for a few days and keep on doing tests..
