Thanks to the ubiquitousness of dashboard-mounted video cameras in Russia yet another bright object has been spotted lighting up the sky over Siberia, this time a meteor-like object seen on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 27.

What is it with meteors and bolides, and Siberia?
I know its a big place, but . . .

Big area and LOTS of dash cams!
I used to drive home late at night from working college basketball games. The drives home from Maine or New Hampshire took me through some pretty rural areas, where the skys were magnificently clear.
I saw this stuff at least once a month. Sometimes a couple of times a week. Never thought of videotaping them. I just thought they were cool.
Big does not do justice to Siberia. Vast and empty is more like.
But, yes, there is junk (natural and man-made) falling all the time. Most falls in the ocean, but, as a good chunk of the land on earth is empty, it is pretty rare that anyone sees anything like this.
