Lots of good science fiction out there. Lots of bad science fiction out there. Tastes vary.

Real Science Fiction readers do NOT use the derisive and irritating term “Sci Fi.”

I read 2001:ASO in high school, before ever seeing the movie.
I found the book entrancing. The movie was a little slow and drawn out and a let down.
The book made me a big fan of Arthur C. Clarke's work.

No “Stranger In a Strange Land” nor “Past Through Tomorrow?” None of Asimov’s “Robot” series?
This list is maybe 25% correct.

John Carter of Mars series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The “John Carter” $250M+ movie actually was pretty good; Disney did not name it properly (should have been “A Princess of Mars”), and they did not market it at all. Bad Disney.

I have been a voracious read of Science Fiction since about the 4th grade. I must say that I really enjoyed “A Mote In God’s Eye.” It would make a great movie!. It was just fun!

Very glad to see WOOL on that list. As soon as I read it, I thought it was an instant Science Fiction classic.
