Some facts are missing, here.
Police Officer Dog Haters are they all Muslim or are they being trained by Muslims ?
What the ****?!
Cop just saving bullets.
I love my dogs like children. If true, i dont have the words.
What the hell is it with citizens who jettison their constitutional rights and allow the constabulary to search their vehicle as a result of a simple “civil infraction” traffic stop?
I posit that anyone who agrees to a vehicle search in these circumstances because “I haven’t broken any laws” and “I’ve got nothing to hide” is no US citizen at all.
Tell Larry Law to get a warrant.
Tell Larry Law that you will wait for the K-9 patrol.
Tell Larry Law that you will only open your vehicle when thay have properly executed warrant and...by-the-way...while we wait...I’m calling my lawyer (look up at the nearest highway billboard-—that is your lawyer!)
If a “civilian” were to leave a dog in a car to die, he’d face charges.
If the story is true as presented, the officer is liable for a lawsuit?..................
Cops should have called animal control for the mutt. Leaving it there creates a traffic hazard AND is irresponsible handling of a citizen's private property.
“prescription drugs belonging to the passenger were found”
I call BS
is there some law that says the public cant sue in civil court
Its OK, folks. Houston’s Head Lezzie in Charge has apologized....
Tuesday, she spoke before City Council, compressing her story into three short minutes. It got an immediate response from Mayor Annise Parker.
“Let me give you a public apology right now on behalf of the city of Houston,” Parker told Garcia. “I don’t know what airhead — there’s another word in my mind but I’m not going to say it — would throw, you wouldn’t put a kid on the side of the road. You shouldn’t put someone’s pet on the side of the road.”

Say that despite the fact that no charges were filed what facts would make it OK for the Cops to not secure the dog and have it picked up by Animal Control?
Why do you suppose that happened? Could it be because it was a bad arrest, as in they really didn't have jack and were just being A-holes because they can.
There is no cover for the cop(s) on this story even if it was a righteous arrest because you don't leave animals on the side of the highway, period, because they are a f-g traffic hazard. Swerving to miss a dog could cause an accident.
It was a pure dick move by the cop and he should be fired for endangering the public as well as animal abuse.
This is so sick and sad. That poor dog, almost blind, alone and terrified and without food and water for 3 days, wondering why it’s friend left it. And it was TOO MUCH DAMNED BOTHER for the cops to make one damn call to a shelter two effing blocks away.
“What the hell is it with the cops in this country and their love of animal abuse?”
The job attracts many sadistic bullies so of course they love to torture animals. They do it to humans too anytime they can get away with it.
I know lots of cops and more than half laugh about doing this type of sh**. Probably even more talk about it in private. Keeps the job “exciting”.
I wonder if he has been identified publicly, perhaps in the hearing? It might give him some pause if the general public knew his identity.
