This advice is worth what you paid for it.
You see, after 90 days of not paying on a credit card, the bank charges it off and sells the debt along with hundreds or thousands of others to a collection agency for 1/100th of the value of the original debt. The debt buyer then tries to collect from the debtor and they keep all the money they can collect.
They will take you to court and try and garnish your wages for 6 to 8 or 12 years. Thats when you ask the court to force the new debt holder to show the court proof of ownership (paper documents) for the debt they are trying to collect for.
These creditors are buying debt with the click of a mouse over the internet and will have none of the original paperwork. The reason, its cost prohibitive and a filing nightmare. These creditors prefer to operate with only intimidation and threats. They gamble in getting a judgment by your failure to appear in court. SHOW UP IN COURT!
Just watch the debt purchaser drop the case and give up on collection.
You are confusing what you can get away with, with what is right and wrong. By your logic, rape and murder become permissible, if the police lose the evidence and the judge dismisses the case.
What you are doing is criminal. It’s called larceny, and fraud. Based on your post, you are doing this with intent.
Not only should your credit be ruined, you should spend some time in the local county jail.
Credit comes from the Latin word for belief, trust. When you undertake a debt, you make an agreement to repay the it under the terms of the contract. Failing to do so when you are able to, regardless of your original intent, makes you a thief. The fact that the creditor was unwilling to pursue his claim legally makes no difference.
Did ya find that post number yet? Keep lookin’
BTW and FYI, Google’s got the thread already.
Well Sparky you are the one that confused "I" and "You"...
Socratic Dialog is the basis for examining morals its how you arrive at truth.
You can't arrive at truth if you can't even understand the difference between "I" and "you"...
You confused an example or hypothetical with fact and when you have been shown to do so you call everyone a troll.
Don't assume. Ask questions to confirm facts if not you end up looking like an ass.
Good. I hope my name for you is there.
Isn’t it interesting that you are checking google.
You realize that not paying your credit card bills eventually will cost all of us a lot more down the road? Companies aren’t just going to absorb the unpaid debt Eventually, that debt gets passed on to others, including those of us who pay our bills when they’re due. Is it fair to make the rest of us in effect pay your debt?
I’ve never made any purchase on credit that I didn’t have the money already budgeted. When I became disabled and could no longer work, one of the first things I did was be sure all of my credit cards were paid in full. Then I discontinued all but one of the cards. I keep the one card only for situations where paying by check is a hassle and it’s not feasible to carry around wads of cash.
Yes unforeseen events such as job loss or catastrophic illness do occur, but you can avoid or at least minimize the effects by not living beyond your means and having some money set aside for such contingencies. Before you make a major purchase, ask yourself, do I really need this big screen TV or whatever and if so, do I have the money to pay for it?
None of which absolves me of the responsibility of debt incurred.
In my opinion this thread should be deleted. It started as a quest for help and has turned into “gotcha”. The OP lacks any seriousness.
For all to see how silly you are and how quick you are to run off at the mouth and then look so foolish when you can’t back up what you posted.
You’ve made your vulgar comments and personal attacks and we’ve removed them.
Now it’s time for you to stay off this thread!
are you extremely nomadic? changing your phone number and address often? have a pocketful of fake IDs?
The road to he’ll is paved with good ‘intentions’.
“Your honor, I didn’t intend to steal that car, but I had to in order to buy groceries. “
Makes it all better, doesn’t it?
Good Question.
Know that every day the FED prints money and then through a shady system of bond purchasing loans the money to banks at 0% interest.
To pay that debt incurred the interest on those bonds are paid by taxpayers.
So is that fair to make the rest of us pay that debt so banks can rake in the big bucks?
Is there anything we need to know about so that we can help you?
++++++++++
Where did you see he was asking you or whomever ‘we’ is for any help, asshole.
With that post you have contradicted yourself. It is OK for you to default because you intended to pay, but hardship came, so too bad.
But you endorse going after the employer who intended to pay you, but defaulted because hardship came.
Why don’t these people either STOP SPENDING or PAY THEIR DEBTS. What are we coming to to get such “advice?” Guess they are learning well from the community organizer.
