The touch screens will only accept debit or credit cards, adding to the slow death knell of cash and coins. This all goes along with an overall revamp of McDonald's restaurants worldwide aimed at projecting a modern image as opposed to the old-fashioned golden arches with a slightly creepy (to my taste anyway) clown guy hanging around the french fries.

Can’t wait to see the video of one of Holders people going ballistic on a machine when she can’t order McNuggets for breakfast.
why is a cashier even needed? just cue in what you want and any special orders and go get in line with your number/receipt in hand.
Might get better service and can only blame yourself for improper order OR the employees in the back who put it together. Until we get to the food replicators like on Star Trek...
People need to stop saying...’if you really want to work, you can’
That’s because they have higher minimum wages there.
“I believe European workers make more money, have more rights and benefits and are therefore more expensive”
Just to nit-pick at you...you are correct that they have a higher fully fringed cost to the employer, but they do not “make more” in net due to their extremely high tax rates. In addition, due to their gov’t policies, they are generally trapped in their jobs, so I wouldn’t consider them as having more rights.
I understand your sentiment tho, the EU fully fringed direct labor rate is extremely costly to employers.
And the dirty screen dispenses every disease on your hands possible before you eat.
No cash no sale.
I suspect in 10 yrs, the only humans at a McDonalds location will be for janitorial and logistics.
The machines will actually deliver orders accurately and promptly, calculate and return correct change, and all without a surly attitude of entitlement.
Still, give it three minutes before the first thugs bash in the machines.
Yeah. That can happen.
See tagline...
Janitorial? Does a Roomba demand $15/hr?
Those people need to go and work for the company that employs the people who take two applications a month for Obozocare. You can sit on your sphincter and get paid to surf the web and hit refresh every 10 minutes.
The Sheets chain has touch screen order entry pads that allow the customer to make a very detailed sandwich and drink order.
Mc donalds and other such already deal heavily in plastic payments. The customer order entry process is but a small step compred to automating the payments
I like using them at the Sheetz stores. Wish they would put them at the drive throughs since trying to place an order with people that mumble, can’t enunciate properly, don’t use proper English that can be understood and basically don’t give a Sh!t always ends up with something wrong in the bag.
I hope they just have pictures, cuz it wouldn’t be fair to make people have to read.
Yep, it really should be that way now, it’s completely doable.
Imagine a McDonalds the size of a FOTOMAT booth.
We do not patronize McDonalds. They charged an extra fee to dine in the restaurant to eat bad food in a filthy environment and tables that are not cleaned. We’ll go hungry before patronizing their filth holes again.
I’ve thought for years fast food restaurants should install kiosks with queues. That way customers who know what they want don’t have to wait behind customers who don’t.
Coffee shops could have touch screens at the booths. Customers could order right away and wouldn’t have to flag down a waitress for coffee refills.
God bless technology.
I’m so tired of my orders being wrong at restaurants I’d welcome this change. Part of the problem is employees who don’t speak English! And yes, being born here doesn’t seem to matter how well you communicate with customers.
I’m equally disturbed with, “Go head wit yowr orda” as I am with my “No cheese” request being read back to me as “No queso”. No one is forcing me to buy a hamburger, but they sure are not inspiring me to be a customer either.
