It’s always a special treat when a trip to the grocery store or dentist turns into a rare car-spotting experience. A forgotten classic or exotic is seen prowling the streets or, even better, appears in the parking lot next to your car. Cue daydream starring you in that exotic car. Maybe you’re in Monaco, driving into the sunset when…

When the PT first came out it was in short supply and “hot”.

They were bringing thousands over sticker. In fact, our used car sales manager bought a used one with 5,000 miles or so, and paid over sticker for it.Just before they became “not hot”. One of the biggest losers I’ve seen from the used car dept.

They were built as a retro vehicle for older baby boomers recalling a ‘32 Ford roadster. Really.

I had the early forerunner to that car, in blue as well.

Enviro-friendly, with pedals and no pipe!

nope....the PT was built specifically for the Scooter Store Scooter crowd...hence the storage back of the back seats.

the HHR ( Heritage to the High Roof ), same reason when the PT popularity went south

the HHR name was to reflect the history of GM’s longest runnin name badge...the Chevy Suburban

friends liked to borrow it because the seats lay down flat.”

Can’t imagine why college kids would ever want a car with seats that laid down flat. LOL.

As I do recall, those were the days when the outdoor drive-in theater was also VERY popular. Of course it was kind of hard to see the screen when the windows were all fogged over.

All the new Chunko-block Toyotas. The design team must have all gone out and drunk fermented UgliFruit juice.

Gotta love Quadratec. I suppose you hang out over at jeep forums too.

I had an old YJ 4 banger many years ago. It was my beater. Hard top/soft top added a set of stock Grizzly wheels I found on craigslist to dress it up.

Then I saw an 04 Rubi I couldn’t live without. After spending a bundle on safari doors, lift, tires, and bushwhacker flare, decided it was too small for me. Sold it to a buddy.

Then about a year ago I found a sweet 04 LJ. It had a fresh 4” lift and nice wheels and mud tires, and it came with a set of factory full doors and half doors. NICE! Love this longer wheelbase. Get constant compliments on her. Only thing I’ve done is a set of pocket flares and a full set of Quardtec floor liners.

Oh and I bought my daughter a 2000 Safari. Honestly, is there any reason for any other type of car?

Funny, but we did use an alternative site because the Army could not confirm the primary site was clear of just what you are talking about because there were cows where there should not have been cows.

Somewhat common occurrence to have unauthorized entry (and it could be rancher ranching wrong field at the wrong time, not necessarily illegals or intentional tresspassers) and the goal is to not kill anyone, just practice killing the right people, so . . . . .

My ‘03 Baja made my friends’ various Jeeps and Dodge Rams look stupid in the snow last winter.

Isn’t that more about the tires than the drivetrain? I mean anything with Blizzaks is stout.

The chrome looks great, all the pieces are there, paint looks decent, even the stripe. Might have a rust spot ahead of the rear wheel, hard to tell in the photo provided. If the interior is in as good a shape as the exterior and the mechanicals are good, that’s a very good price, whether the mileage is actual or it’s rolled over 100K once or even twice. I can believe 114K miles and still decent exterior but 214K I have my doubts. Never really cared for the Starsky & Hutch paint scheme on anything, nor the white rims. But, it was the fashion at the time. Private seller, Chicago. Wonder if they have better photos or could provide them.

I managed to get my ‘07 GT Wagon stuck in about 14” of snow, sleet and ice, it did great until the bumper started pushing a pile of it and kept going even after that until the sun got low and it froze. Humiliating experience, but there were trucks stuck well before I managed to do it. I did get my man card back by getting it unstuck the next day without a tow, lol. GT’s don’t have much ground clearance and it’s got speed-rated low profile tires that aren’t exactly ideal for that sort of driving. If I’d had Blizzaks on it I’d probably have gotten it home.
