Do I have any recourse?

If you paid via CC, then dispute it.

Use FedEx
And no, other than calling your bank and despite the charge.
Why anyone uses usps other than first class mail boggles my mind.

If you can’t get help from the local postmaster, contact the postal inspector. You may need to file a complaint.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Against the USPS? No.
Maybe with blinds.com. Or maybe file a dispute with your credit card denying the charges since you never received the product.
Any chance it was stolen? Do you live in an apartment or condo complex.My nephew lives in a respectable (meaning not trashy) condo complex in a middle class town.He says that his mail is always winding up in another box and that the same is true of other people's mail winding up in his.
If blinds.com chose the shipper, the obligation is on them to get the package to you to you.
OTOH, if you chose the shipper, or they offered insurance but disclaimed responsibility for lost and damaged shipments, then the loss probably falls to you.
I would phone the seller and advise that it was never received. Let them track it down or send a replacement. If they refuse to do so, presumably you paid with a credit card (just one more reason never to use a debit card),and you can advise your credit card company that the merchandise was never received. At a minimum, they will place the billing of that item on hold.
As to the USPS, that is quite a coincidence of not receiving two packages within a short time period. I suggest you send a letter to your local postmaster. I suspect they have a problem with the substitute letter carrier.
A while back, a woman rang my doorbell. She had a pile of mail for me, some dating back nearly one year. The house next to her had been vacant but she noticed that mail was being dropped off in the street mailbox on a regular basis. She decided to look inside the box where she found it nearly full of mail addressed to other homes. She took it all out and delivered it herself. I never did find out how or why that was happening. It made me double my efforts to make sure that all mail of a confidential nature was changed over to email delivery wherever possible. You can have just about all of your financial and billing account mail delivered via your email address.
"...substitute route driver..."
Well, there's the problem. And I don't mean that facetiously.
These are people who will be managing your healthcare. That is after they finish delivering your mail.
My wife’s sister mailed her a birthday card with $40 cash and it arrived taped shut with no money inside. Sent from the Portland, Oregon area.
Not this time but in future, specify 'signature required'. If you are not home they leave a delivery note and item can be picked up at the PO.
It is also possible someone is ripping off your packages once delivered.
Things have certainly changed.
Was recently going through my late MIL's files and came across a folder on an incident where she sent a package to someone, and it didn't get delivered (got returned). She wrote to Senator Alan Cranston, who wrote to the postmaster general... the postmaster general did an investigation and discovered that the recipient didn't have a prominent sign in the office building lobby. Cranston forwarded back to my MIL the apology letter from the PG who said he would work to improve service.
So it was from blinds.com
Well there you go — someone thought they could pull one over on you and you wouldn’t see.
They keep delivering mail to us that is addressed to a business that was down the hall, but moved out six months ago.
A lot of it addressed to some guy with a weird looking foreign name. We have one employee who is Indian. Apparently our Postal Carrier put two and two together, and arrived at the answer “37”.
Our small company had a day (or several days) worth of mail stolen and we have a locked post office box inside the post office building. There were even checks some missing. The post office in our small town says they've had no issues reported. Caused several of our bills to be paid late and several calls to me made to reverse late fees. Then a few weeks later we get a letter from some higher-up in the postal service in Houston stating there's an investigation on-going (not connected to our complaints) about mail theft. Attached was one of those pages of blank checks that you sometime receive as offers from your credit cards and they had our name on them. Wondered if they did a drug bust and found it in someone’s home & found them.
Good luck getting anywhere with the USPS. FEDEX collaborates with them during Christmas, they told me. A package of ours was delivered by FEDEX to the local PO. The postmaster had tracking, as did we, to the carrier. The carrier documented he delivered it, at a time BEFORE the local PO even received it.
The company didn’t charge us even though it was not their fault.
The Post Office delivered an Amazon order shipped FedEx “Smart Post” to the wrong address a few months ago. Amazon replaced the order immediately, but the person who received the shipment left the original outside my front door three weeks later!
Obviously the carrier is lying about where he left your package.
File a complaint with the retailer.
