Disturbing video of a police incident in an Oklahoma parking lot shows a man who had committed no crime dying after being roughed up and violently restrained by four copsall while his grief-stricken wife watched in horror.
The man, 44-year-old Luis Rodriguez, died in a Moore, Oklahoma movie theater parking lot. Police were responding to a reported domestic disturbance. Rodriguezs wife admitted to slapping the couples 19-year-old daughter in the face over a disagreement about the girls behavior. Rodriguez, however, was not involved and had not done anything wrong, according to local news reports.
But when police arrived, they wanted to question Rodriguez. According to the Moore police department, Rodriguez was not cooperative, and cops were forced to handcuff and restrain him.

and all of them can “carry” anywhere because they are “trusted” ... yet I cannot.
“Police Chief Jerry Stillings said that he has not yet seen any footage demonstrating that the cops misbehaved.”
Thugs protecting thugs.
I guess the police motto has gone from serve and protect to beat and kill.
If it happened the way the headline says then heads should roll. But the story itself reads somewhat differently. Need more info.
same here. But if its true, these cops need to serve long time hard time.
We’re looking at this all wrong, obviously our priorities are screwed up.
All the cops got to go home safe at the end of their shifts, and that’s the important thing. As a bonus, no dogs are known to have been killed.
I saw your comment so I went to read the story. The headline is essentially correct, he was "restrained," then pinned down until he expired. Pepper spray may or may not have been used.
Surprisingly the wife was allowed to video the incident. This evidence will mysteriously disappear from the police custody.
And three are now on paid vacation.
I’m not clear how the cops ended up there over his wife slapping a 19 yr. od daughter. Maybe they assumed the man was guilty of something or maybe the guy dared voice displeasure over the cops’ questioning tactics?
Doesn’t seem like it should be a death sentence in any event. No report of the guy attacking the cops, just being uncooperative. What more info do you need?
We don't really know what they guy did to get cuffed, we don;t know whether he succumbed to the "beating" (not in evidence) or had some sort of medical condition the cops were unaware of. Personally I need that info before drawing a conclusion.
Having said that I believe without a doubt that cops too often opt for a violent solution to problems far too quickly these days. Here it cost another guy his life.
Isolated incident, nothing to see here.
The headline appears to be over-the-top, but we’ve seen from numerous recent stories about violent cop-induced deaths that we can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt.
To be on the safe side, officers later stopped by the suspect’s house to kill his dog.
The former can be remedied, the latter (far more serious) cannot.
Agreed. Meanwhile, cops need to be treated like everybody else by the criminal justice system. They must not be allowed to beat and murder members of the public under color of law.
These guys on paid administrative leave? Need to be in jail with bail set at hundreds of thousands of dollars each, because that’s where you or I would be in the same situation.
We are seeing more and more of this, and more often than not, it seems as though it is happening to innocent people. Cops get the wrong house, tear up the house, shoot the victims, etc. I guess this would be a great way to get rid of that pesky neighbor, if you were dishonest and had no conscience.
Same could be said for the AG.
A fish rots from the head.
