Game between Broncos and the mis-named Patriots, from leftist Boston, is about to start. Living in Colorado I will be rooting for Manning against reported liberal Brady. Just knowing that John F'n Kerry will be rooting for his "Patriots" makes me want the Broncos to win even more. Who are other FReeper football fans rooting for?
today’s games ...
Go Broncos!
Go Seahawks!
No real rooting interest in either team other than it could PO the east coast sports cabal if no east coast team is in the Super Bowl. Go West! ;o)
Never could understand the thrill of watching souped-up cars drive around in circles for hours. :-/
I’m not rooting for anyone but I am picking San Fran and Denver to win today.
But I’m lousy with my football picks so it will probably be Seattle vs. NE in the Super Bowl.
Never let politics interfere with entertainment, life is too short. Anyway Kerry probably has no idea who his regional team is. Meanwhile never bet against Belichick and Brady, they’re just too lethal a combination, especially going against Manning.
As a Browns fan I cannot root for Denver even with Peyton.
Never liked the Broncos, especially Elway when the Colts drafted him and he told them to go to hell. Spoiled brat. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth Eli Manning did the same with the San Diego Chargers.
OMAHA!!!!
Tom Brady on the other hand appears to be a staunch conservative.
I’m taking the Broncos for the win, followed by the 49ers in an upset over the Seahags. I truly hate to root for a team from San Fransicko but plenty of friends and family are 49ers fans so I’ll go with their flow and cheer for the team without supporting their city.
On a separate but related note, I’ve always wondered why an NFL team doesn’t have 2 quarterbacks on the field, one taking the snap and the other - perhaps a running QB - available to get a pitch or handoff and have the ability to run or throw. It would force the defense to try to cover for a lot more options and would seem to provide an additional “out” for the primary quarterback if he’s getting pressured in the pocket. Simply dish the ball to the secondary QB and let him make the play. FReeper thoughts?
OMAHA!!!! Yep every time he says it there is a good amount of money going to his favorite charity. I forget how much and the charity.
Hey RD232! How are things going? Did you move from Mississippi?
I liked the Broncos in the late 90’s with McCaffrey and company. Now .I would rather the Patriots win!!!!! America for the Patriots!!!!!
There is actually life outside politics. :-)
What???? No way. lol. You should see the movie threads. Some of these people have ZERO lives but politics.
Well we moved from MS to Texas and after a year and a half we moved right back to MS. All due to transfers from my wife’s employer. Happy to be back in MS we own out right the house and property here. Gardening starts full time this Spring! We are Happy cubed!
Im sure John Kerry is all in for his favorite team, the Boston Patriots,
As he should be. He was the Senator from the state. Good for him for being a fan of the state he legislated for a while. Lord you guys are so amazing at your bashing of such stupid things. No wonder we are losing a good many elections.
I read that a group of business men in Nebraska are donating $500 per “Omaha” to Manning’s foundation for at risk kids.
HURRY, HURRY!
Manning, hands down. He is a compassionate, charitable man, off the field.
Totally irrelevant unless you want this to be some sort of affirmative action weirdness. That should not be brought into the thread. He should be evaluated on his playing only. Thank God you guys don’t run football. We would have a bunch of do gooders who would not want to hurt anyone playing. Football is a tough sport.
I love you all but your reasons for picking a team are absurd. Liberalism? smirk? pot smoking state? Nobody is talking experience, the plays, or anything that should be used to pick a team. I feel like I am in some twilight zone. What is this a beauty pageant? Seriously, this is football and only stats and plays count.
See, back in the 2004 election, Kerry made a big deal about how HUGE a fan he was of the Boston Red Sox. When a reporter asked him who his favorite player was, he replied, "Manny Ortez" -- conflating the names of David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez.
In other words, he's a COMPLETE fake. Guess he fooled ya, huh?
Wow.
