Nitrous oxide (N20) emissions could almost double by 2050 if more aggressive action is not taken, undermining global efforts to curb climate change, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) said on Thursday.
Commonly known as the laughing gas, nitrous oxide exists naturally in the atmosphere in trace amounts. However, it is the third most potent greenhouse gas after carbon dioxide and methane due to human activities such as agriculture, fossil fuel combustion, wastewater management and industrial processes.

Went to a Halloween party 40 years ago. Guy giving the party was a dental student. He had a big tank right inside the front door. When you went in, he filled a garbage bag full of gas and handed it to you! Best party ever!

If nitrous oxide is such a good greenhouse gas why don’t they use it for insulation between glass windows?

This is not bad. The way things are going we’ll need a few laughs.

However, it is the third most potent greenhouse gas after carbon dioxide and methane... B.S. The most potent greenhouse gas which dwarfs all the others is the gaseous form of Dihydrogen Monoxide.

The most potent greenhouse gas is dihydrogen oxide vapor. We must eliminate this now!!
