“Race officials denied the request”
why? This is a simple thing to accommodate.
If she wanted to wear a hijab they would have allowed it

It’s not like there are a thousand runners in the race and all the other numbers were taken.

This courageous young women should get a full scholarship to a Christian college. She is running the right race.
Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. HEBREWS 12:1

I say she has a right to refuse that if she sees fit. As a Christian I wouldn’t want it — not because I would fear anything that it could do to me personally (it can’t), but because I wouldn’t want to give the devil a chance to use me to flaunt the number. Suppose I win the race? I probably wouldn’t mind a 13, but would draw a line here.

A Kentucky High School Athletic Association spokesperson said that race officials would have granted Thackers request had they been made aware it was for religious reasons. LOL! Ya, right. Why did they think she didn't want the number in the first place!

Why didn’t she just turn it upside down and make it an ad for Herman Caines 999 plan.. the great man whose Presidential bid was destroyed by the Treason party and the backstabbing RINOs?

Someone here has a tag line that basically reads “ 668 neighbor of the beast”. I always laughed at that one. (Suppose it could have been 664 )

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. - Revelation 13:18

Before I retired, my AF flight helmet storage bin as indicated in big numbers on the bag tag, was 666. It’s just a number. The aircraft never fell out of the air, I never suffered any injuries or other bad luck, and the devil never appeared to me to lure me to the dark side. There is plenty of evil to worry about in the world besides a number.

Tell her to just wear it and not try to buy anything with it like gatorade or sell anything like her autograph and she should be just fine.

She’s not risking her relationship with God over this. God already knows all about it. Personally, I would have stitched it upside down and raced as “999” and hoped nobody noticed.

The numerology of Torah is confusing enough for me, even as it warns of superstition. But I wouldn’t wear 666 either, out of respect for Christian sensibilities.

If they still refuse then just before the race she should flip it into # 999. Herman Cain would be proud.
