Wanted to share something with everyone here....not necessarily so much schadenfreude as it is educational and entertaining to see the lights come on for an Obama supporter.
Simply put, a liberal pseudo-intellectual colleague has decided to start a small business....very small. Only himself working out of his home. He apparently wants to use his skills and talents to create wares in his own home and do business over the 'net. He is the only employee....
But lo and behold, hardly a week goes by when this young man, who looked admiringly at BO and called him "a genius", now bemoans the tax law, filings and regulations he is facing as he tries getting this enterprise off the ground.
As my family is deeply involved in the management of a small business, I have been a lonesome voice about the intrusion of government into individual liberty. The liberal now-wannabe business person always looked for a way to defend the Greedy Hand.
Now he is getting first hand experience about what I warned against. Though not all of his problems are created by federal regulation and law *exclusively*, but the idea of an overbearing weight of bureaucracy and cost is being felt.
Welcome to the real world.
This guy is finally getting his eyes opened—and that’s a good thing!
...tell him it’s good thing he’s trying now and not three years from now....then sing:
Right to the end
Just like a friend
I tried to warn you somehow
You had your way
Now you must pay
Im glad that youre sorry now
Good for you. Thank you for showing him how reality is mugging him. Let’s hope he has a bit of deductive reasoning that helps him make the transition away from liberalism.
ha ha ha ..hope the little twit loses a ton of money!
Connie Francis sang it so well....’Who’s sorry now?” Haa..the truth hurts Believe he has learned something now? One can only hope.
My son has started a number of small businesses and has spent innumerable hours filing crapola just so he could go powerwash a deck or put wall board in some kitchen
Money is the great eye opener, regardless of party affiliation and not soon forgotten.
when the student is ready, the teacher will appear
Your colleague is a curious liberal breed. One that actually feels he has to obey all the tax laws etc.
Most of his ilk just ignore those pesky interruptions. Little Timmy Geitner is a prime example.
I hate to say it but all that will happen is he will blame the Republicans for his problems. It is wishful thinking to hope he will change. He won’t, Liberalism is wonderful, Republicans are bad to him.
Handy men work should be done on a cash basis under the table. If they don’t like it then charge them more for all the BS.
But - is he still towing the party line that it’s Republicans that have put this bureaucratic red tape in place?
The libs I know still do. “...well... it’s BOTH parties... it started with Bush..Reagan..Ford..etc...” They can’t help it.
my super liberal obama loving colleague just let slip that she is on a payment plan with the IRS, where do these people get off not paying taxes
Some of the very best conservatives have been democrats who saw the light.
Amazing what people can learn.
They are so well taught in acedemia that reality has no place and dont ever question what is, just follow happily. This, much like the surprise many zombies are getting with his healthcare scam. This is our comedy relief, how much did you or your parents pay for reprograming.............I mean college? Most of us got it for free by asking tough questions with a high school diploma
They won’t listen, and there’s a “very good” reason they won’t.
When you point out the failures of their ideology, you’re attaching their righteousness. They derive their ability to call themselves a “good person” by the policies they support.
So, whether you intend to or not, when you attack those policies as destructive, harmful, and at best, ineffective - you are attacking their righteousness and they will immediately shut you out.
Reality trumps delusions every time.

Cryin’ tears of joy, I’m cryin’ tears of pain
Cryin’ tears of joy, they run down my face
Into a river that winds its way into your life
Welcome little one, to this place of earth and stone
Welcome little one, all blue eyes and innocence
The world is so much colder than your own soft glance
Hey, it’s a human race
Hey, it’s a brave new place
Hey, now you’re at the gate
Welcome to the real world, there’s so much to learn
Welcome to the real world
Welcome to the real world, there’s so much to learn
Welcome to the real world
The past is a memory, the chains that were chokin’ me

I see my freedom lyin’ in my arms tonight
Hey, it’s a human race
Hey, it’s a brave new place
