To calm city in preparation for Zimmerman verdict.
Cops are going door-to-door in an American city again, only this time at least they are knocking on doors instead of knocking them down.
The most recent example of a police-state presence is developing even now in Sanford, Fla., where neighborhood-watch participant George Zimmerman is on trial for murder for the death of teenager Trayvon Martin.
Police say they fear the backlash from the community which could develop at the point the jury verdict is delivered. Los Angeles had days of rioting when the Rodney King verdict came down.
So Sanford Police Chief Cecile Smith confirmed officers are going door-to-door talking to people.
“Our worst fear is that we’d have people from outside the community coming in and stirring up … violence,” he said.

That has already happened. Jessie & Al came to town and demanded they arrest Zimmerman Whipped gullible people into a frenzy. The media helped stir the pot with false reporting.
It is clear from the States witnesses that Zimmerman should have never been charged.
In looking at the picture here of a gentlemen in a yellow T-shirt and ball cap talking to the policeman, the “optics” (to use a word the media so loves) are all wrong.
Body language is all wrong, at least for trying to assuage fears and tamp down, unless you graduated from the WWF school of body-slamming body language. The whole persona, demeanor and body language is wrong (seeming smirk, right hand holster-ready, skinned head, partner at the backup).
If I were the Sheriff, Police Chief, or whatever, I'd have my men/women out talking to these residents in a more amiable manner - or at least looking like they're there for something other than to intimidate....my two cents.
Solution: Lock up racists Jesse and Al for a few days after the verdict. The charge: conspiracy to rabble rouse.
Maybe their purpose was to intimidate; i.e., “this is how we are when we are friendly.”
Hopefully Zimmerman is found not guilty. Police should back off, set up roadblocks, shutdown any entry/exit and let the town/neighborhood go at it.
Common sense folks should stay away and watch the self-destruction and when it’s over do nothing. Tell the locals “you “F’d” it up you live with it.
Believe me, I had the same thought as you.
So are the police and the mayor and the black preacher etc trying to threaten the jury into convicting?
This is Al Fecalphelia Sharton we're talkin bout. His career literally started in a full toilet bowl.
Doesn’t matter.
The twits will stir things up plenty.
Obama is the GREAT STIRRER!! “If I had a son” crap....actually, it’s not crap because if he did have a son he would be EXACTLY like Trayvon....tatted....Gold Tooth....Gang Member......THUG.
The drums is beatin in memphis right now.
Going door to door to calm tensions in the black community......what a bunch of bull spit! Politicial correctness run amok. The thugs will just be looking for an opportunity to loot and injure whites. The police commanders should be preparing for riot control and put out orders that lawbreakers will not be tolerated and will face arrest and prosecution.
That is interesting.
It's a common problem with online media -- in particular Drudge report and townhall.com vis-a-vis they use stock photography that are out of context with their headlines.
So next time you see something like Newt Gingrich with his face buried in his hands under the headline "Gingrich regrets ... blah blah blah" keep in mind the picture has nothing to do with the headline. It's done to reinforce the validity of the headline. Call it what it is. Propaganda.
So you’re saying the photograph accompanying the article is NOT one taken in conjunction with the article? I’d like to be sure about this.
Of course that was the goal. Scare the locals, and make them MORE likely to riot if the wrong verdict is reached.
