God Bless Texas! There's no ambiguity about justice here. Murderers are rightfully dispatched in the form of the ultimate deterrent for they'll take another life again. There's so much to like about Texas but my longtime tagline expresses that the enforcement of the death penalty is near the top of the list. Number 500 and counting...
Even though he does have his detractors here on Free Republic, Rick Perry deserves our thanks for serving as Texas Governor for more than half of those 500 getting justice. He also claims the distinction for governing over more executions than any other in America's history. Don't mess with Texas!

Please correct me if I'm wrong but, to the best of my knowledge, Governor Rick Perry has never issued a stay of execution. If so, my respect for him increases.
And that article I posted to begin the thread also notes:
"I think our process works just fine," Perry said last year ... "You may not agree with them, but we believe in our form of justice. ... We think it is clearly appropriate."
So do most Texans.
A 2012 poll from the Texas Tribune and the University of Texas showed only 21 percent opposed capital punishment.

Oh yeah, I remember this case. She deserves to die, but first she should have her head stomped on by a Wooly Mammoth.
Just sayin’

I like Rick.
More's the pity about the brain cramp that sidelined his presidential aspirations.

Far too few are being executed. In the time frame that covers these 500 executions, 50,000 criminal homicides were recorded in TX.

Death penalty opponents are right to say that the death penalty doesn’t deter murderers, but not in the way they mean. When the odds of getting the death penalty after being convicted of some criminal homicide are perhaps 1 in 100 (given that 50,000 criminal homicides have occurred in TX during the time span it took to execute 500 murderers), it’s not surprising few criminals pay much attention to the prospect of being executed.

Good choice for #500.
Judging by her actions, this particular woman is pretty much the personification of evil.
