Bring yourself to the game. Leave the cooler and backpack at home.
The NFL is tightening stadium security starting this preseason, limiting the size and type of bags fans can bring to the game.
The restrictions are designed to enhance security while speeding up entry into stadiums.
With the exception of medically necessary items, only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches will be allowed. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags also will be OK, as will small clear plastic bags approximately the size of someones hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Don’t forget your papers.
NFL already has attendance problems....this will make it worse. Esp in Jacksonville
“The restrictions are designed to enhance security while speeding up entry into stadiums. “
No mention of enhancing vending revenues?
Not totally in agreement with your sentiment there. The NFL is a private business, not the govt......
Body scanning equipment being taken out of the airports will now be put into service by the NFL.

You may be right about Jax....but I think this will help in Charlotte. The idiotic drunks have driven the famlies almost out of NFL stadia...and the cooler rule might bring some fans back - even if it drives some others away. You can't bring this stuff into college games, and the SEC seems to pack em in anyway.
Then why do they not build their own stadia out of pocket and get the government to give them taxpayer money to build them instead?
“No mention of enhancing vending revenues?”
You nailed it. They want you to buy their overpriced food and drink and not bring your own from home. They’re only using this “security” bullcrap as an excuse.
Another reason to watch the game at home on a wide screen TV.
Well that’s an entirely different issue....and BTW, some of them do.
Highly dependent on attendance and how well-supplied the tailgate parties are. They drive more people away, forget about the vending revenue.
Next is seatbelts on toilets and government nannies to tuck you in at night.
what nfl stadium allowed you to bring your own coolers with food and drink?????
I guess this means I cant take Hillary to a game.
Not only do they overprice their tickets, overpay their players, overprice their lousy food, they also give you the pleasure of sitting in the rain, cold and snow while they sit in their warm, dry, heated overpriced stadium boxes.
I suppose that is not enough for the greedy owners.
The next step will be to charge a $100.00 parking fee as greed has no bounds
They couldn’t pay me to attend a Jags game w/ all the crap that goes on around the stadium; let alone WHEN it’s actually in use. Sad to see my tax $$ pissed away on that money pit.
My wife told me I couldn’t take my “lava buns” anymore. That would suck. Cleveland Browns Stadium can be an awful cold place if you don’t have your lava buns.
I think this is a good example of how the federal government oversteps.
Each of these stadiums are perfectly capable of determining the best level of security on a local level. What might be a risk in New York may not be a problem in Cleveland.
However, we get the over-reaching nanny organization determining what is right for all. Spreading the inconvenience out evenly over everybody in every city.
Perhaps not, but where coolers have been allowed - this will certainly improve it at least around the margins.
