As college tuition keeps rising, so does student debt.
Asked about ways to make higher education more affordable, 59 percent of Americans strongly agreed that colleges and universities should reduce tuition and fees, and 46 percent said companies should provide more assistance to their employees.
Forty percent said the federal government should provide more assistance, 38 percent said state governments should provide more, and 38 percent said community-based scholarship organizations should provide more assistance.

People want free stuff. Film at 11.
Does this piece even suggest that parents NOT allow their children to go to a college they can’t afford?????????
Aren’t we responsible for anything? As a parent, my child attended the school we could afford, NOT the dream school he wanted. What’s wrong with people? We’ve become so lazy.
Americans are welfare-begging filth (elect the kenyan and clinton TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the nation is finished.
If the government stopped dumping money into the college/university system, the costs would drop.
What happened when the government decided to step in and give a helping hand so people could afford houses/healthcare/whatever?
In Tennessee the lottery was supposed to go to college scholarships. As soon as the lottery was passed, the tuition at the colleges went up by approximately the same amount as the lottery scholarships.
Aaannnd people in hell want ice water.
I want my employer to pay off my credit card bills. Also I need a new Keurig, I think my company should pay for that too.
It’s not free lunches they are wanting, it’s free educations in “women’s studies” and “the African American experience” and other worthless degrees.
I presume that their employers are helping them pay for everything. That is what employment is for.
this nation has turned into a bunch of little girl wussy pansies. everyone should pay for my wishes. everyone else, that is.
country is begging for a reset. it must be done extremely thoroughly. we aren’t going to get a second reset.
If you want employers to pay your tuition, get a job, receive the paycheck, and pay your OWN student loans or tuition from the money you receive.
The nation's Founders believed the people were smart enough to run their own country. The Founders were wrong.
I was very fortunate. The company I worked for provided tuition assistance. At the time, you could work on an undergrad degree and in my last year, I believe the limit was 5250. Had to maintain a 3.0 average to get the refund. That was 22 years ago. I don’t think it would cover a single course with today’s costs. It took 10 years but it was worth every minute. I’m not sure what they do today, other than some grad school assistance, but you have to be in Engineering, Computer Science, etc. with a 3.5+ average.
I want my employer to start paying for my ammo! Every month, I should get a fresh supply for every firearm that I own!
As an employer, I will definitely help these freeloading worthless sack of sh**s/s a free education: it’s called kiss my ass and get back to work and if you don’t want to work, there’s the pavement.
They are helping. They provide employment so you can pay your damn bills.
They already do. It’s called a PAY CHECK!!!!!!!!
