During hot weather, don't top off your gas tank, the tip on the home page says. Even a small gas spill adds to air pollution and wastes fuel.

[I always manually retract the vapor hood and visually fill to the top.]
I do the same. I usually pay cash so I like to end the numerals on an even dollar.
For the last few years I've been buying gas at the farmers co-op because it's ethanol free. The extra cost is a wash because I get more mileage.

“Pour gas on floor of garage, add Tide, scrub and hose off and wash down the street!!!”
Unfortunately a kid in a small town I lived in did that one winter night at a service garage with a kerosene heater burning.

Glad they didn’t see the back of my truck when I went and filled the gas cans without caps.

Vapor hood? We don’t have no stinking vapor hood!

Luckily my primary gas cans are the old style ones. I only have two spare 5 gal cans I keep to fill up before any known sever weather situations. When I have to use them I just get a funnel.

I hacked all of mine and the ones my kid has and the neighbor's. But that's just me. I love a good mechanical hack.

These are the people that give us gas that goes bad in our lawnmowers and weedeaters so you have to dump it out. Where do these geniuses think most of it goes?

I top off w/o spilling, and I do not add to air polution. Now, let’s consider the air polution caused by all the unnecessary flights of AFOne, and all the unnecessary flights of Moosehell and kids on their many taxpayer paid vacations. I say FUBO...FUMoosehell...Go to hell, do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

If I were gonna meet a Muzzie I would wipe a pigs ass with my bare right hand then shake his had...then I would wash it and soak in in disinfectant. (’cause of touching the Muzzie, not the pig)

Gah. These people are so ridiculous I should be generating tears of laughter, but I can’t even muster it up due to the realization that there are people as nutty as this who have the ear of powerful people in the government.
Heck.
A fair number of these nut jobs ARE part of the government.

Really EPA? 'Cause if you're worried about gasoline spilling, those stupid gas cans you mandated recently have caused me to spill more gasoline then I spilled in my entire life previously.

Topping off gives me an extra 15-20 miles. Newer vehicles don’t spill unless you get really stupid trying to force extra in.

Since gasoline is back over $4/gal here in the People’s Socialist RepuliK of Illinois, it’s highly unlikely I’ll be topping off my gas tank anytime soon .....
