Pierce Brosnan Backs First Black James Bond Former 007 Pierce Brosnan says black British actor Colin Salmon would make an "outstanding" James Bond, but there is no rush to replace Daniel Craig.
The first black Bond?: British actor Colin Salmon By James Lachno 13 Apr 2013 Pierce Brosnan has suggested that Colin Salmon would be his pick to become the first black James Bond.
The Irish actor, 59, who is about to appear in a Danish romantic comedy called Love Is All You Need, was asked who might replace current 007 Daniel Craig in the film franchise.
He said: "I've always thrown Colin Salmon's name in the mix. He's somebody I have worked with closely over the years. He would be outstanding and I think it would be absolutely essential."
Brosnan played James Bond in four films in the 1990s and 2000s, before Daniel Craig took over as the international man of mystery for Casino Royale in 2006.
Salmon, 50, appeared alongside Brosnan in three James Bond films – Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day – as MI6 Deputy Chief of Staff Charles Robinson. His other film roles include Resident Evil and Alien vs. Predator.

Have you ever noticed at malls with two Santas that more kids want to go to the "real" Santa, aka, the white one. Same thing here. If James Bond is an actual person, he can't just be switched out for someone of a different ethnicity or racial background (or gender, for that matter).
If it's just a title or code name, then, sure, whatever. There was a black Iron Man for a while back in the 80s when Tony Stark hit the skids, which was fine because he was a guy in a suit. A black Spiderman, OTOH, would've been crazy.
James Bond isn’t black.
Neither was James West.
Just leave it alone.
How can he stay true to the character when the character is written as a Scotsman, white. Why not cast Russell Crowe as Malcom X in a film. Think he could stay "true to character?"

I used to like Bond movies. When I was in my teens, that is.
And by Bond I mean Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton. The retarded slapstick of Roger Moore made a mockery of the series. Here’s how it SHOULD have gone down in a perfect world: Connery, who did return as Bond in 1983, should in fact have kept making all the Bond movies up until that point. Then Timothy Dalton should’ve taken over in 1985 and kept making the movies until around the turn of the century, when the Bond franchise should have been left to die a graceful death - with no more desperate flogging of a dead horse that ran out of original Fleming stories ages ago, and with no idiotic crap like gay kissing, black Bonds or what the hell have you.
I haven’t seen a Bond movie since Pierce Brosnan’s first one. That’s where I called it quits. Today I couldn’t care less what they do, ‘cause I will never voluntarily see another one. So by all means, make a black Bond movie. Hell, why not make one where he is an illegal wetback too. And one where he is a marxist Mongolian transvestite with one testicle. Ain’t diversity great, after all?

You really need to see Daniel Craig’s portrayals of Bond. He is absolutely the best since Connery.
Our family just read the original Daniel Defore novel last year...have you ever read the novel? Pretty amazing—and as much a SPIRITUAL book as it is a book about survival in isolation.
The book refers to God Almighty and the sinful condition of man almost as much as it does the “Gilligan’s Island” aspect.
The 1954 version starry Daniel O’Herlihy (?) I think, is the movie we watched after we read the book...it was pretty good, I agree.
It’s bad enough having a gay James Bond...now this.
I wouldn't have agreed with that assessment before seeing Skyfall.

Some of Mr. Brosnan’s brainwashing is now apparently leaking out.
He was going on about this before, he first suggested Colin Salmon should replace him while he was still Bond. Salmon is currently 50, that’s young, for a US Senator.
So yeah let’s make a White character Black for the hell of it. Their are lots of Scottish-Swiss Black guys. How about Usher, he could sing the theme song too. He can fake an accent, I’m sure.
And how about a tranny Bond girl, come on it’s the 21st century!
