Bill Maher opened up the panel discussion on his show tonight talking about recent developments on gun control in the Senate.
He lamented how liberals have basically conceded the gun argument to the center-right, saying that liberals to a certain degree also indulge in the “fetishization” of guns, and declaring that someone on the left needs to stand up and say that the “Second Amendment is b—s—.” …

They see it. That’s why they want to do it. All that stuff would be given away TO THEM, or at least control of all of it.
One of them did just that. I don't find it refreshing. He's a counter-revolutionary. What should we do about counter-revolutionaries? Are they a danger to our Republic? I think so.
He and others like him took sides two hundred years ago and LOST. If they want to fight that war all over again, they just need to say so.
Will we soon hear Maher eloquently stirring the liberal masses with, "Give me Gun Control, or Give Me Death!"? Somehow, I doubt it.
Best he move someplace else now. Obama isn't going to be there forever.

Of course an 18th century citizen’s militia armed with muskets mattered in THE 18TH CENTURY, because at that point in time, the government had only 18th century muskets.
In the present day, citizen’s need more powerful firearms because of the heavy firepower the standing government has at THEIR disposal in the 21st century.
Pit the truth of intention against itself and let the people decide. Liberals know that a majority would be against them so they have to deceive.

I would actually LOVE to see them repeal the 2nd amendment.
It would amount to an official declaration of war against all non-leftists. If its official then we are all the more justified to go down fighting.
David Stockman says he is not afraid to call the 2nd amendment bullsh*t. He says the world has moved passed the 2nd amendment. I wonder if the love affair with him from the Ron Paul/Info Wars crowd will end now.

Stockman is an ass. He likes writing books and playing with cell phones. I like shooting firearms. I really don’t see any difference here. If we all liked the same thing, the world would be a pretty boring place.
I’ve never really wanted to own a semi auto .556 rifle before. Now, it is all I can think about. We all have to own one now. It is mandatory equipment for all freedom loving Americans to own one.

Well, speaking of Orwellian, there is the principle of “blackwhite” (an expansion of “doublethink”), which refers to being able to hold two contradictory ideas in your head while believing both to be true—which was one test of how absolute one’s loyalty to the Party was (if the Party said black was white, then you believed it was and you forget that it could have ever been something else). Same goes with the proverbial “2 + 2 = 5”. Stockman is blatantly exhibiting the qualities of an Inner Party member here, and of course he isn’t the only one.
While I wouldn’t tell you not to get one, think about a 7.62x51 battle rifle. The Marines ended up putting a squad designated marksman with one in, well, every squad.
