That “all-out brawl” at South High in Minneapolis got coverage from virtually every local outlet. At WCCO-TV, Esme Murphy reports: “Twelve people complained that they had been sprayed with mace. Police at the scene said they had to use chemical agent to get the crowd under control as they were being pelted with objects as they tried to break things up. … [One student] said the fights were over pride. ‘I know it’s a pride thing between Muslims and black people,’ she said. ‘They want their pride back for something. I don’t know.’ She also said ‘boys were hitting girls’ and that some people were lying on the floor, with their hands over their heads, in surrender.… The fight, students say, was the result of long-simmering tensions between the 8 percent of students who are Somali Americans and the 20 percent who are African Americans.”
The Strib story, by Paul Walsh and Kelly Smith, says, “Guled Omar, a senior, said he was sitting in the cafeteria when the outburst began after a boy hit a girl. ‘I don't feel safe here,’ Omar said. ‘This is something that has been going on’ for at least two years, he said. ‘I don't know if it's because we're minorities of the newest immigrant group,’ Omar added, saying he has complained to the principal and the School District.”
KSTP-TV’s story, reported by Joe Mazan, says: “Classes will be in session Friday, the district said Thursday evening. The school will implement a safety plan ‘to ensure that there is support for a safe learning environment.’ Additional counselors and support staff will be on hand. The school will operate under a ‘code yellow’ Friday. Students will remain in their classrooms during class periods and access in and out of the building will be limited. The school will be on its normal schedule.”
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. The result of more “liberal” policies to “make things better”. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
They are probably just making excuses to protect the real perps: Lutheran kids who moved here from the Lake Wobegon area.
Plus the Muslims will not tolerate non-Muslims going after Muslim girls, while seeing non-Muslim girls as "fair game".
I think this was the real issue, judging from the thing that actually triggered the riot being a boy on one side hitting a girl from the other side (and they don't say who was on who's side)

The situation in Minnesota is mild compared to what is happening in former black neighborhoods in American cities everywhere else; they are losing a low-profile race war to Hispanics in which their opponents receive thousands of reinforcements daily while their own numbers (like those of whites) slowly peter out...
There’s a general divergence between American blacks and African or Caribbean immigrants, who tend to want to work and improve themselves. (Generalizations, of course.)
However, there are exceptions. Somalis come in two basic varieties, “Somali Bantu” and “ethnic Somali.” The Bantu are the working people of Somalia, often slaves or near as makes no difference. In the US, although it is difficult for them to adjust from their extremely primitive origins, they tend to be hardworking, pursue education diligently (if not brilliantly), and so on.
Ethnic Somali, however, have a cultural prejudice against work. Work is for slaves. “Real Somalis” fight and steal, or lie around and chew qat. They do not work, they do not learn, they do not produce. In some ways, they are similar to Haitians, who, for different cultural reasons, do not have a culture of work, education, and productivity, and so tend to become dependents, criminals, and generally harmful residents of the U.S.
One might say, allowing for individual outliers of course, that Somalis are the “African-Americans” of Africa, and Haitians are the “African-Americans” of the Caribbean, making the journalist’s confusion over physical vs. cultural geography even more ironic.
Somalis are really big on running your own business. They run a lot of convenience stores.....which get robbed.
Wrong! The Somalis were assigned to the United States by the United Nations. We were stupid enough to comply. They carefully researched which states had the most generous welfare programs and picked Minnesota and Maine.
In addition, the ELCA (ever more concerned with political correctness than Christianity) sponsored many of them in Minnesota because the ELCA is concentrated in Minnesota.
BTW, you find few Somalis in the coldest parts of Minnesota such as Baudette, International Falls, Two Harbors, etc. They are almost entirely concentrated in the cities, especially Minneapolis-St. Paul. There is a reason for this: more taxpayer teat to suckle.
That “work is for slaves” or “work is beneath me” ethic is prevalent among the Arabs as well.
Yes, there’s quite a bit of similarity, although of course Arabs and Somalis hate each other almost as much as they hate feuding factions in their own ethnic group.

An African dropping the N word on an African-American is an instant fight. I saw it in an office once. African see themselves as superior and American blacks as criminals. American blacks know it and don’t like it.
Irony: The African was engaged in prostitution which is accepted in parts of Africa. Hence the AIDS issue. She wasn’t street walking. She just went on “dates” for money.

I actually remember television specials from the 1990s about some of them walking two and three miles one way to get to their jobs.
Unfortunately, the leftist media complex used them to pave the road for "real Somalis" who, unfortunately, make up most of the Somali community today.
A late 1940s equivalent would be allowing Jews and other victims of nazis into the country as a limited humanitarian gesture, then importing waves of nazis in their wake.
The Somalis were given refugee status. Too bad they weren’t given a little lesson in gratitude toward their host country.
We are not nearly careful enough about who we allow to immigrate here. Sometimes you can’t take the uncivil out of cultures.
I knew a very PC young man who insistently referred to a black figure skater from France as, “An African-American French Girl.”

The govt didn’t just ‘let them come’...they brought them here and paid them to be here. It was all part of an effort by USAID, who is run by really bad presidential appointees, like Mrs. GROVER NORQUIST, who is a muslim and was a Bush appointee.
In England it was discovered that their gov’t did just that very thing, it was planned.

You are correct. Roughly 90% of all work in Saudi Arabia is done by immigrants. The 10% tend to be the bosses, owners, inspectors, enforcers and visa stampers. A poor Saudi might hire a house boy or maid from among the Palestinians or Yemenis. A middle class Saudi will pick them from India or Bangladesh. A rich one wants them from Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines.
Just another one of the fruits of Mohammedanism . . .
