Practice makes perfect.....post on....
I know a few people who have done the paleo diet - isn’t it basically just the same as a good low carb diet? Whole grains, no sugar, lean meats?
That does sound good -
Basically that is all I am doing as of Wednesday:
Low carb
High protein
Eating frequently
And a fairly intense weight lifing workout/cardio routine with no rest breaks in between.
I already started the training side, to work up to going full bore come Wednesday
There are quite a few whole cloves of garlic in it, but no garlicky smell.
Well...it’s just the cream sauce that makes it naughty.
A little skim milk instead of triple heavy cream would alter the taste and texture somewhat, but it would not be “Nasty” by any stretch of the imagination.
The other ingredients more than make up for it!
IMNSHO, of course!
you’re absolutely right, it could be modified to be made much more low cal and would still taste good.
LMAO, that is genius!! A+++++
I was diagnosed with adult diabetes a little over a year ago.
First thing I did was remove all the “white’ food from my house (White bread, pasta, rice, sugar, cakes, cookies, etc)
I replaced it all with whole grain products, and they actually taste better. More filling too, so I eat less of it.
It’s a good way to lower carbs...offset them with FIBER!
And still eat like a KING!
Thanks! and Happy New Year!
happy new year to you too!
what about that whole “wheat belly” thing? it’s so hard to know what is “good” any more!
I am on antibiotics for a sinus infection and feeling miserable. Along comes the LM Health Counselor on the phone....just what I want to discuss...my health plan for the new year.....when all I want is the pain in my sinuses to go away. Have been in pjs and resting for three straight days. Have to miss my New Year’s Eve party tonight, a funeral this morning...I can’t think past getting rid of my sinus pain. Had to spend 25 minutes talking with her. OMG I feel like life will never be normal again.
Had I been a bit more abstemious with the Christmas treats and sweets my waistline would now be somewhat less prominent.
OMG you poor thing that sounds just awful!
I have an overweight friend who can't seem to lose a pound on his diet of "lean meats." I had dinner with him the other day and noticed that he likes to lean meats on top of french fries.
For the third consecutive year, they found a way to screw me worse than the year before with the health insurance plan changes. Just when I learned to take advantage of the HSA, they flip to an ineligible for HSA plan.
Hope you feel better soon.
Oh I know.
All these “Gluten-Free” products are the new rage.
Gluten is one of the things that make bread rise.
The “Health Nuts” of the 60’s used to eat Wheat Germ and Gluten as Health Food.
“Lactose-Free’ is another fad. Sure, there ARE people allergic to Wheat Gluten, or who are lactose intolerant. There are also people who are violently allergic to seafood and eggs.
Must we ALL forgo Milk, Eggs, Seafood, Wheat, Nuts, Fats and Sugars because it is not healthy for SOME people to ingest them?
Haha - something doesn’t sound right in that diet! lol
