I wish to purchase an FN-FAL and an AR-15, and I would like to do so with a fellow freeper who can accept payments over a period of months. There would be no delivery of the firearm until the payments are completed.

In case there is a freeze in the possession of firearms, I would like to own one of each of these firearms, and have them registered to me and under my name so that I can own them until my death.

You can’t write a check for a thousand bucks? Why the hell do you spend so much time and energy here if your finances are that tight?

Doesn’t Wal-Mart do lay-away now? I don’t know time limit or restrictions but FReepers are bitter, clinging to their Bibles and AR-15s or so I’m told.

Know any FReepers who have a Browning Hi-Power Single-Action auto who would like to sell it?

You know Laz, just suggesting the “in case of a freeze” implies some pretty stark and sobering thoughts about our government.

Wha?! Yeah good luck with that.
Why don’t you just go buy one on a credit card and pay it of monthly taking a little interest hit.

Are you talking about an FN SCAR? 5.56 or .308......those are pretty pricey...

Get your butt down to your local shop and buy an AR-15 lower receiver. ATF considers this the gun and everythign else is unregulated parts. They build easy with no special tools, anyone can do it. Cost should be less than $150.
Don't wait. Go now.

Could I interest you in a Browning Bolt action 243 that has had less than a box shot through it?

You’ll never find a decent FAL.

You can only buy firearms in a private (non-FFL) transaction from a citizen of the same state.
I would study all applicable laws carefully, and interpret them in the most pessimistic manor possible.

To: Lazamataz
Dear Laz. Registered? Do you live someplace where that is a requirement? I keep seeing “registered to” in news articles but dang if I would want to live anywhere you have to register. Although it appears that they may all need to be registered if things keep going the way they are. Everybody needs to get on the phone, fax, email and hard copy letters to their reps/sen and demand they uphold the constitution they swore to uphold the same as many of us did when we joined the armed forces. I don’t think the commitment had an expiration date or a disclaimer that once you were discharged you were no longer required to uphold the oath. I considered it a life long commitment.

Anybody can live his life any way he wants but if my money were so tight that I couldn't write a check for a grand or less the last place I'd be spending much of my energy and time would be on any activity, such as an anonymous internet forum, that didn't put money in my pocket.
First thing first, my FRiend.
