~~~snip~~~ hey did a DNA test on the Cherchen man (the 3800 year old 6'6 tall dark blonde mummy and the oldest mummy found), and the beauty of Loulan (the red hair mummy), and both of these mummies contained East Asian Mongoloid DNA. Even the Chinese scientist were astonished. The Mongoloid component of the Tocharians are not from Han Chinese or pre Han Chinese, but most likely from Altaic types of Mongoloids such as Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and Mongolians.
This obviously indicates that the Tocharians were already mixed for quite a few generations, since they looked mostly Caucasian. Very interesting. History books need to rewritten again, as intermingling between East and West occured at an even earlier date than conceived.
~~~snip~~~
The conclusion on DNA test on all 12 samples of the Caucasoid mummies contained DNA from: Europe, Mesopotamia, Central Asia, Mongolia, India, and Siberia. So to make a long story short, the ending of the documentary concluded that Xinjiang was a crossroads town where people from all over came, traded, and mixed with each other. The documentary was incomplete but It was still good and informative. The documentary also stated that the test were not done and more information will be released once completed. They should have just finish the test before making this documentary as it was very vague but it was still informative....

Red-headed steppe children?
You win. No need for anymore posts on this thread.
Got all their albums....
Ping. Interesting DNA evidence of a common ancestor.
Pretty good, although with that pun, you still deserve to be beaten like one.
A 4000-YEAR-OLD Chinese mummy has been claimed as a Scot - because of its red hair and kilt-like dress.
As a descendant of Scots I demand reparations and the right of return!
Indeed!
Ping
Note: laughing spit takes are far less destructive to an iPad than a standard keyboard...
Those redheads got around.
I wonder how many know that Ramses the Great had red wavy hair? Originally they thought he just colored it as there was henna found on his hair but tests showed his natural hair was also red.
Harder to hit a small target or are they more waterproof? lol
The Khorasan empire specialized in slaves so it should come as no surprise there is an assortment of DNA in the populations in and around the area. Even after the empire was destroyed by the Mongols the successor states in the area all traded heavily in slaves. The Quaker adventurer Josiah Harlan led an Afghan “army” against Uzbek slave raiders in the 1830’s (Harlan was Kipling’s inspiration for The Man Who Would be King - except of course Kipling’s hero was English).
I have been studying this phenomena for about eight years... A few important points. The mummification was a result of being buried in relatively shallow graves in very hot desert sand that remained hot for eons. Thus some of the best preserved mummies ever found. And as an odd note... In one woman’s grave a particular ‘grave good’ found that was a long/tall black round brimmed pointed hat made of felt - basically identical to what we call a witches hat. The style of clothing (including the cloth and weave of the cloth) was nearly identical to the same sort of items found near Halstat Austria in excavations of Celtic ruins there.
Well it is said that the Scots will go anywhere, as long as there is a bad climate.
Here I sit, 7,600 ft. up on the windy east side of the Rockies, as proof.
(I keep flashing on John Kerry pronouncing it "Jen-Jis".)
Thread winner.
Some would like to see me get the reward I deserve. lol ;^)
Solid glass surface cleans up easy. Thanks for the chuckles... :-)
