If you mounted a mirror at street level on the side of a building in Manhattan, around 90% of the young women walking by would check themselves out. They wouldn’t use the mirror as a sly way to check out if any threats are walking behind them, they would just check out themselves.

Poorly done study. The sharper men in the study probably figured out that this was some kind of sex test, and decided that the best way to get done with it is to spend equal amounts of time on each photo. Either that, or they wanted to get done quickly.

Also, not much description is made of the types of women in the pictures. Old, young? Fat, skinny? Shapely? Homely? Degree of clothing?

The women would be less confirmed with being called a pervert. And, if the pictures look like the pictures in a “Soft Surroundings” or “Tall girl” catalogue, might have been used in the same way that the catalogue is used, checking out the clothes, NOT the women per se.
