omeone has finally removed Justin Bieber from his YouTube throne. South Korean rapper PSY and his hugely popular Gangnam Style video officially surpassed Justin Biebers Baby over the Thanksgiving weekend, notes YouTubes Trends blog. As of Sunday morning, Gangnam Style had more than 815 million views while Baby was a few hundred thousand short of 805 million.
Biebers video has been at the top since July 2010 and remains hugely popular with as many as 500,000 views a day. Yet thats nothing compared with how quickly PSYs video rose to the top. Lots of searches for the video were first detected in South Korea in late July until it peaked in September in North America and Brazil. Now the video is watched somewhere between 7 and 10 million times a day, according to YouTube.

“Its a fun catchy song. Im not going to go all hipster and say it sucks just because it is popular.
And as song that isnt singing about bitches and hoes or about shooting up someplace, it is nice to see something like this outshine all of the junk that we usually get from our country.”
Post of the day! Agreed!
You beat me to it. The first time I heard it, I thought it was just a Korean version of the Macarena. And from your lips (err ... keyboard) to God’s ears — if I never heard it again, it’d be too soon.
En Ingles:
[Not much better]
A girl who is warm and humanle during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist
Im a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now lets go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all
A sensable girl like that
Im a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now lets go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
Im a man who knows a thing or two

This is Hugh and Series!
Praise the Lord i no longer do general Business Music.
I would be required to play this at every Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Wedding.
Who knows, I might have been forced to play it at funerals too.
Very much so.
There are a lot of Korean songs I like more than this
I think it's cool...so does my 88 year old mom and my 3 year old grand-daughter. Anything that makes all of us smile is cool.
It’s mocking those who try hard to be rich and stylish.
Gangnam....
Gang = river
nam = man (?)
Klingon Style?! That’s freaking awesome!
This isthe best version I have seen (~75 million views so far).
RE: Gang = river
nam = man (?)
Nam = South
Gangnam = South of the River ( I think it refers to the Han river that flows through Seoul ).
Yes, I think Gangnam-gu is on the south side of the Han river.
RE: Too bad most people are unaware of the homosexual imagery used in the song.
Well, we got the lyrics translated to English. See Post #23 above. Which part is the homosexual imagery?
BTW, the Singer/Dancer, PSY (Park Jae-sang) is American Educated ( Speaks excellent English too ). He enrolled in Boston’s Berklee College of Music. PSY took core curriculum lessons in ear training, contemporary writing and music synthesis ( he dropped out and never graduated ).
RE; The song is disgusting.
Many Korean parents will agree with you.
This singer is not a good role model.
A lot of Korean parents don’t like him and discourage their kids from emulating him ( to no avail sometimes ).
PSY debuted with his full-length album PSY from the PSYcho World!, for which he received a fine due to accusations that the album contained “inappropriate content”.
He was a rookie hip-hop singer that stirred up the Korean pop music scene with very blunt lyrics, peculiar dance moves and an unconventional appearance that earned him the nickname “The Bizarre Singer”.
He released another controversial second album Sa 2 in 2002, which sparked complaints from concerned civil groups due to the potentially negative influence his album would have on children and teenagers. Since then, Psy has been thought of as a controversial artist, and Sa 2 was banned in 2002 from being sold to those under the age of 19. Later in September the same year, Psy released his third album 3 PSY.
The album’s title song, “Champion”, saw great success partly due to the hype from the World Cup games held in Seoul.
Despite the significant amount of controversy surrounding his music, PSY was awarded with songwriting accolades at the annually held Seoul Music Awards, which marked his breakthrough in the music industry of South Korea ( As usual, it’s always the entertainment industry that corrupts the culture ).
In 2002, PSY was arrested for the possession of marijuana and as a result, was unable to attend his grandfather’s funeral.
I wonder if he learned all that unconventional behavior while studying here...
Well, I am sure it didn’t help any
I think it’s cool too.
