Jesus and Christianity are already under attack, why add doubt to the mix.
Stupid move.
Well...if IL PAPA says so, it MUST be true. ex cathedra and all that bul.
Jesus was probably not born on December 25 either.
Though Christians had adopted that date by A.D. 336, Christ was born when shepherds watched their flocks by night. In other words, most likely in the spring. And no, He wasnt born in the year A.D.
The Bible tells us that Herod the Great ruled Palestine when Jesus was born, and Herod died in 4 B.C.so Jesus had to have been born not long before that.
Yep, Blame Dionysiuys Exiguus for this onehes the sixth century monk who came up with the idea of splitting history into A.D. and B.C. He just chose the wrong date to do so, thats all.
Does this mean I am 5 years older than I thought I was?
Whaaaaa?????
Next, they will be telling us He wasn’t born on December 25.

Many would be shocked to learn what they're really celebrating each Christmas and Easter!
Yeshua (Jesus isn't a Hebrew word) was born on Tishri 15, 3999.
So, maybe we have not even reached Y2K yet and that is why nothing happened back then with the computers! Gasp. It could happen any time now!! /s
Typical mindless blather by a post-Vatican II pontiff.
The more fundamental point is that God did not intend us to mark His years by the birth of Jesus.
If He had intended this we would have a Biblical fixing of the date.
Further, the day of Jesus' birth is unremarkable as all men are born.
However, very few return from the dead, that event is remarkable, and it is the defining moment of Christianity, the very moment of proof that his sacrifice was not in vain. And the Bible gives a precise reference for when this happened!
Clearly this was the date the calendar was supposed to start!
For extra points, this makes our calendar off by anywhere from 17 to 30 years. That makes this something like Holy Year 1982 to Holy Year 1995, giving us anywhere from 5 to 18 years to get our affairs in order before the real end of the millennium...
bkmk
This means, as I’ve thought previously, that the year is actually 2015, and proves the Mayan calendar depicting the end of the world is wrong. December 2012 passed three years ago.
If you look at history and the records and do the math, then it comes out to 2 or 3 BC late September.
Does this mean that the Mayan calendar is wrong, and that the TEOTWAWKI was really November 6, 2012??
Perhaps we can make it 2008 again so we can try again to nominate a better candidate against Obama. :(
This has been known for many years. Why the headlines because the Pope referred to it in his book on Jesus’ infancy? They make it sound like this is some big new claim that the Pope is making. Not so!
Once again, SOOOOO glad to see the Church so totally focused on the most relevant and pressing issues of our day. /SARC SARC SARC SARC SARC SARC
So?
Hasn't it been agreed that 4 BC is closer to actual year already?
ATTENTION SHOPPERS: Black Friday has been cancelled! !
OK, so let’s just all agree that instead of 2012, it’s now 2016... just in time to elect a new president, and since Obama’s second term ends in 2016, he is no longer eligible.
