While I gave NBC News credit for breaking the news of astronaut Neil Armstrongs death, someone at NBCNews.com screwed up big time with this headline, confusing Neil Armstrong and Neil Young:
No, Neil Young was not an astronaut, and is not dead. The current version of the story has the following correction: Editors note: An earlier version of this story included the wrong name in the headline.

No one was more surprised by this news than Neil Young.

This was in error. They meant to say Lance Armstrong.

Idiots. It wasnt astronaut Neil Young, it was astronaut Lance Armstrong. Didn't you hear? USADA revoked his moon landing after his teammate, Buzz Lightyear, told them that he had doped with Armstrong.
Cheers!

That’s XKCD - funny and gloomy at the same time. RIP Dr Armstrong.

Oh, dear Lord! WOW! That’s a faux pas, to put it kindly.
Did you know that Armstrong was a fighter pilot in the Korean war, but was not in the military when he became an astronaut?
He was an exceptional stick, and they wanted a civilian to be the first to walk on the moon.
It gives me chills thinking about that.
There are several other stories about his space exploits that show him to be an exceptional pilot...probably the best ever.
Even with all of his accomplishments, he was an unassuming and humble man, and he will be greatly missed.
