Something like 70% of Americans think, today, that the country is headed in the wrong direction.Consumer confidence is near an all-time low.The Republican Governor of a deep blue state recently survived...easily survived...a recall effort. And I haven't even mentioned the unemployment rate, the food stamp rate, the national debt or gas prices.

And yet we're supposed to believe that Osama Obama would stroll to victory if the election was held tomorrow?

In the weeks leading up to the Wisconsin recall election there were plenty of polls indicating that Scott Walker would lose. He ended up winning the recall election by a wider margin than his original election.

Something to think about here is that the GOP ran through this past primary season with the most marginal, half-@ssed group of presidential candidates in recent memory. I mean, how could Rick Santorum be a credible candidate when he wouldn't even carry his own state in a general election? And Newt Gingrich? That jack@ss wasn't even in politics for more than a decade before crawling out from under a rock somewhere to dress up as a "Republican Presidential Candidate" for an early Halloween season. These guys all stayed in the race as long as they could because they knew damn well that even a bag of dog crap would stand a pretty decent chance of winning against Obama in November.

I play golf often with 2 seniors who are both retired government workers. They will vote for Obama because they are convinced GOP is only for rich people’s benefit.

So I ask them basic questions such as...why should seniors be scared of Romney-Ryan? Their answer: they will cut Medicare & Social Security. I ask them do they know that GOP proposals will not affect people over 55? Nope, they don’t know. But they hear on the news that Ryan wants to gut Medicare.

Next topic...they want taxes on rich people to go up. I ask them who creates most new jobs? They agree it is small businesses. So I tell them if taxes are raised will it cause those small businesses to hire less people? Their answer flabbergasted me....They said no, the money will come out of profits only, not cutting employees.

I think we are in bigger trouble than you think.

Despite your well layer out reality, just look at free republic for an example of why Romney may not win. Then look and talk to your neighbor who doesnt pay much attention but thinks Obama tries hard. Couple em both, and you have an Obama victory party.

Rove's right...It's in the numbers....If there are more "ignorant" people than responsible people...Obama wins. Dems will not change their vote. It's called "stuck on stupid".

The only way Repubs win is if Repubs get out the vote and Dems stay home.

3 months to go....scarey...

The Dollar is primed for a toilet flush but still it floats, why? Because the Euro is primed for the first slush.

Obama is primed for a toilet flush but still floats, why? Because Rinomney is primed for the first flush.

All true, let's not forget that if an 0boober victory were such a lock, why isn't the left running around bragging about all his accomplishments? 0bamacare, the "signature legislation" barely gets a mention. Instead the only strategy they have is to run a negative scorched earth campaign, planting stories about Romney and now Ryan in their media in hopes of limping to a 51% victory.

BTW if this president does eek out a victory of 1 or 2 percent we can thank the many "conservatives" (some here on FR) who decide to sit out the election because Romney isn't the perfect candidate. Because this is the only scenario (along with outright fraud) that this president gets back in. IMHO there's no worse situation for the country than a reelected 0bama who "has a free hand because he won't need to face another election."
